Update: Stolen vehicle from Butler Wal-Mart located in Miami County Kansas

On 2/28/17 around 3:15pm the Butler Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at Butler Wal-Mart on West Ft. Scott Street.

When officers arrived on scene they made contact with the owner who stated her vehicle a 2005 maroon in color Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen from the parking lot and her dog was in the vehicle.

Officer viewed the surveillance video at the store and at Max Motors and determined the vehicle fled West bound on Missouri 52 Highway.

The vehicle was entered as a stolen vehicle and a stop and hold was placed into effect.

On star was able to track the vehicle to a storage unit in Lacygne, Kansas. When authorities responded to the storage unit the vehicle was no where to be found.

The vehicle was recovered a short time later in Miami County, Kansas and the dog was still in the vehicle and unharmed.

Loyal George 98 of Garden City, Missouri departed this life on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, Missouri surrounded by love and family.

Adrian to test storm sirens this evening

While we got our first 'taste' of Spring like weather last night, consequently it's time again for the city of Adrian to test storm sirens.

The test will be conducted at 6 pm this evening, weather permitting.

Obituary - Walter "Jack" Spratt

Funeral services for Jack Spratt will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.

Walter Lee “Jack” Spratt, age 94 of Mt. Vernon, Missouri formerly of Butler, Missouri died Monday, February 27, 2017 at Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born April 4, 1922 to Arthur Lee and Edna Elizabeth Main Spratt in Hume, Missouri.

Jack is survived by three daughters, LeBeth Washburn of Cameron Park, California, Mary Carol Speece and husband Charles of Galion, Ohio and Jackie Lee Roberts of Joplin, Missouri; one sister, Lousie Brown of Nevada, Missouri; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carrie; one brother, Richard Spratt; and one sister, Hazelle LaFarge.
