The City Mayor and council have been working towards properly enforcing the City’s nuisance ordinances. These steps have involved bringing ordinances up to date with new state statues, breaking the ordinances apart so they are understood easier, informing the public of what is in the ordinance so compliance can be met and helping the public meet compliance without creating any unnecessary financial burden toward a citizen. Council has not changed the criteria of what a nuisance is, changes have only been made to meet state statues for penalties and enforcement. The following are the steps the city and staff is taking to inform and help the citizens before enforcement commence.
