Update: Missing runaway's from Rich Hill area have been located!



Bates County Sheriff Chad Anderson contacted us this morning to let us know that the missing juveniles from Rich Hill have been located safely.

The two men were located at I-49 and 52 Highway in Bates County.

Sheriff Anderson would like to think everyone who assisted in the search for these two.

Butler man arrested in Bates County

Christopher Lawrence 
On 4/12/17 around 8:40am the Bates County Sheriff's Office arrested 35 year old Christopher R. Lawrence of Butler, Missouri.

Mr. Lawrence was arrested for 1.) Failure to appear in court warrant (X2) 2.) Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree - First time offence.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail and he is currently listed as bondable.

Police searching for runaway in Cedar County

Tyler Mastro ran away from Agape Boarding School this morning around 0700 hrs. this morning.

Runaway teens in Rich Hill

Bates County Sheriff's Deputies are currently looking for two runaway juveniles at this time.

They are indentified as Daniel Wyatt (15) and Justin Breitung (17) of Rich Hill. 

Please help find them!!! They were last seen at approximately 6:30pm by Old Town north of Rich Hill walking the creek bed. 

If you see them please call the Bates County Sheriff's Office at 660-679-3232 immediately! 

Several people and police are searching for them at this time. We don't have a photo of Mr. Breitung and we are working to get one.

Police believe the teens are not in danger and could possibly be looking to steal a vehicle and flee the area and head towards Kansas City. 

The two are said to be wearin dark pants one in a red hoodie and the other possibly in a blue long sleeve shirt.

Bates County Sheriff Chad Anderson advices the public to please lock your vehicles and be alert of your surroundings.

Charles Edwin Smith, age 80 of Amsterdam, Missouri died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was born January 11, 1937 to Hiram Earl and Effie Elsie Close Smith in Butler, Missouri.

Charles is survived by his wife, Alberta Smith of Amsterdam, Missouri; a daughter, Crystal Cox and husband Wade of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two brothers, Paul Smith of Butler, Missouri and Robert Smith of Chanute, Kansas; two sisters, Helen Elliott of New Orleans, Louisiana and Elsie Bolser of Lee's Summit, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Jordan Wade Cox and Melody Beth Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steve Smith; daughter, Melody Smith; three sisters, Ann Alexander, Pauline Polaski and Dorothy Walden; and a brother, Tom Smith.

Mayme Sue Enlow, age 89 of Foster, Missouri died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at her home in Foster. She was born October 10, 1927 to Byron Hunter and Erin Talley Cole in San Angelo, Texas.

Sue is survived by her husband Milton Enlow of Foster, Missouri; two sons, William Dixon Gibbs III of Galveston, Texas and Dan Gibbs and wife Cathy of Angleton, Texas; three daughters, Shirley Sargent and husband Richard and Kerry Webb and husband Russell of all Butler, Missouri and Stella “Dee” Anthony and husband Aaron of Noel, Missouri; a stepson, Larry Enlow and wife Rose of Butler, Missouri; stepdaughter, Pam Enlow-Edsall and husband Ben of Kansas City, Missouri; and 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband W.D. Gibbs, Jr.; her second husband Elmond Strempel; one brother, Byron; three sisters, Ruth, Shirley and Carleen; and one grandson Darren Enlow.
