Nevada police make substantial meth bust

For the past several weeks officers with the Nevada Police Department have been developing information on a residence inside Nevada in regards to distributing methamphetamine. Throughout this time detectives had been conducting follow up leads and surveilling the residence in question.

On April 13, 2017 Nevada Police served a search warrant on the house in question, located in the 300 block of West Arch St. During the execution of the warrant officers made contact with the two residents inside the home. The occupants of the home had surveillance on the property and police monitoring equipment believed to be associated in direct relation to the distribution of methamphetamine.

During the search of the property officers located suspected methamphetamine, along with other items commonly used in the distribution of controlled substances. Also located in the residence were multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives collected the evidence at the scene. The suspected methamphetamine will be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory for further analysis.

The investigation will be sent to the Vernon County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for the filing of formal charges once lab results have been obtained by the crime lab. Once formal charges have been filed by the courts, suspect names will be released.

Citizens are encouraged to contact the police if they have any information that would be helpful to combat crime.
