Saturday Evening Storms

Most of your day today should be dry, warm and a little humid. But that warm and humid air will fuel thunderstorms during the evening and overnight hours. 

Some of those storms may be severe with the possibility of large hail and damaging winds. We think the most likely timing for any severe storms will be between 6 pm and midnight.







One vehicle fatality accident in Pleasanton Kansas

On 4/14/17 around 11:15am the Kansas State Highway Patrol in Linn County along with Pleasanton Police Department responded to a one vehicle fatality accident at the intersection of 7th and Holly Street in Pleasanton.

The Kansas State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the Southbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by 59 year old Eric Kleweno of Pleasanton, Kansas veered off the roadway and crossed a private parking lot striking a building.

Mr. Kleweno was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri where he was later pronounced dead.

Earth Day celebration at Battle of Island Mound State Historic Site April 19th

Visitors are invited Battle of Island Mound State Historic Site near Butler on for an early Earth Day celebration. The event will take place from 4-6 p.m. on April 19th at the historic site.

Staff will present information on the history of Earth Day, recycling facts and tips for composting. The information will focus on ways to make the world a “greener” place.

Missouri State Parks is celebrating 100 years in 2017. Visitors can experience all the park system has to offer with the Centennial Passport. Visit mostateparks.com/passport for more information.

Eric E. Kleweno, age 59, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017. He was born on October 5, 1957 at Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Eugene and Geraldine Martin Kleweno. He graduated from Fort Scott High School. Eric was wed to Janet Black on December 26, 1976 at Pleasanton, Kansas. He attended Mound City First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and shopping. He could always find a good buy. The most important part of Eric''s life was his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Eric is survived by his wife, Janet, a brother, Billy Arnold and a sister, Trudy McKinney.

Funeral service 10:30 am Monday, April 17, 2017 Mound City First Baptist Church. Burial in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, April 16 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Pleasanton Chapel. Contributions to the American Heart Association or Wayside Waifs. Eldorado Springs man arrested in St. Clair County

On 4/14/17 around 4:06pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County, Missouri arrested 37 year old John H. Sieleman of Eldorado Springs, Missouri.

Mr. Sielman was arrested for 1.) Felony Cedar County Sheriffs Office Warrant - Failure to register as a Sex Offender 2.) Felony Henry County Warrant - Driving While Suspended 3.) Felony Parole/Probation Warrant - Parole Violation 4.) Misdemeanor Eldorado Springs Police Department Warrant - Peace Disturbance.

John H. Sieleman was booked into the St. Clair County Jail and placed on no bond.

Butler woman arrested in Bates County

On 4/14/17 around 5:46pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 38 year old Johanna L. Kidwell of Butler, Missouri.

She was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated - Aggravated Offender.

Johanna Kidwell was booked into the Bates County Jail and she is currently listed as bondable.
