Obituary - Terry Wayne Caldwell

Terry Wayne Caldwell
Terry Wayne Caldwell, 66, Nevada, MO passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his home. Terry was born May 1, 1951 in Nevada, MO to Elton Earl and Ellen (Short) Caldwell. 

On July 18, 1970, he was united in marriage to Paula Sue “Susie” (Adams) and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2013.

Terry attended Nevada Schools and graduated from Nevada High School in 1969. He received his civil engineering degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1973. Terry and Susie worked side by side as owner/operators of T.E.K.E. Nuts and Chips, a vending snack food distributorship for 39 years. After selling the business he worked at 3M in Nevada until his retirement. 

Following his retirement Terry continued working part-time for Bond Seed Company in Nevada. He was a member of the BPO Elks #564 in Nevada, and the Studebaker Drivers Club. Terry enjoyed time and activities with his grandchildren, taking trips in his 59 Silver Hawk Studebaker, fishing, and playing cards.

Survivors include his companion Susan Burns of the home; three children, Marty Caldwell and wife Sandy of Nevada, Misty Shepherd of Diamond, MO, and Mendy Legleiter and husband Leon of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Kelsey Caldwell, Triston Shepherd, Tori Shepherd, Riley Legleiter, and Reese Legleiter; one brother, Earl Caldwell and his wife Joyce, Nevada; numerous nieces, nephews, and a “slew” of other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife Susie, he was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Kelly Caldwell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Chris Deines officiating. 

Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the BPO Elks #564, Nevada in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.




New registered sex offender in Bates County

 
A sex offender was registered today who just moved to Bates County from Grandview, MO.  Bradley Allen Bartlett (DOB 9/3/1956) is currently registered at 919 E Walnut in Rich Hill, MO.  He was convicted of Lewd and Lascivious Acts in San Bernadino, CA in 1997.

Traffic stop leads to arrest in Butler

On June 2, 2017 a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on 52 West in Butler. The passenger in the vehicle, Ashley Alvarado (DOB 10/16/93) had multiple warrants. 

The Deputy conducted a vehicle search and located a clear plastic baggie with a white substance inside it. 

The substance field tested positive for Methamphetamine. He also located another baggie that had what appeared to be marijuana inside it. The Deputy tested that baggie and got a positive test result for Marijuana. A pipe was also located.

Alvarado was transported to the Bates County Jail and booked in on the current warrants she had. Charges are pending out of Bates County for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Alvarado had 1 Bates County Warrant for Failure to Appear on Unlawful use of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond amount $1000.00 cash or surety.

She had 4 Warrants from City of Butler.

-Failure to Appear on Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond amount $250.00 cash or surety.

-Failure to Appear on Possession of Marijuana. Bond amount $250.00 cash or surety.

-Failure to Appear on Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond amount $250.00 cash or surety.

-Failure to Appear for Failure to Show Proof of Insurance. Bond amount $20.00 cash only.





Obituary - Jerry E. Isaacson

Jerry E. Isaacson
Jerry E. Isaacson, age 72, of Butler, passed away Friday, June 2nd in Butler.

Funeral Services and Military Rites will be held Tuedsay, June 6th at 10:00 am at the Heuser Funeral Home in Rich Hill.


Wake will be held Monday evening from 6pm to 8pm

Jerry is survived by his wife, Diane Isaacson of the home in Butler. Daughter; Tanya Derry and husband Elmer of Butler. 


Son; Jerrell Isaacson and wife Rebecca of Texas. Sister; Janet Rankin and husband Jim of Foster. Brother; Dale Isaacson of Oklahoma.

Roadwork in Harrisonville

MoDot has scheduled the following street closures in Harrisonville over the next two weeks as work continues on the 291 project through town. 

Each one will last only one week and everything will be re-open by June 19.

06 June 2017 – Close Waters Road and Delmar Street at MO-291.

12 June 2017 – Reopen Waters Road and Delmar Street. Close Crestwood Drive at MO-291.

19 June 2017 – Reopen Crestwood Drive.

It's always a good idea to avoid construction zones if at all possible, but if not, then please slow down and drive carefully when in the area.

Harrisonville Wildcat Baseball News

Brandon Eickhorst, Joe Snooks and Keegan Hix
The Wildcat baseball team will have three representatives in the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Senior All Star Series in the Class 4 game. 

Brandon Eickhorst, Joe Snooks and Keegan Hix were selected by baseball coaches from across the state.

They will be playing on the Blue (West) team vs. the Red (East) team. The four games in the series will be played at US Ballpark in Ozark, Mo. The Class 4 game will start at 4:00 p.m. on June 10.
