Osceola man arrested on warrant for felony drug charge

On June 5, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Tommy Graham, 54, Osceola, on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony possession of a controlled substance. 

The warrant was issued the same day and stems from an Osceola Police Department investigation on April 26. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Eleanor Berte Diehl, age 92 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at her home in Butler. She was born December 26, 1924 to Arthur Charles and Stella Mae Wolf Burkhart in Pleasant Gap, Missouri.

Eleanor is survived by a son, Paul J. Diehl Jr. and wife Terry of Stilwell, Kansas; two daughters, Janice Siegel and husband Terry of Lake Winnebago, Missouri and Maribeth Golladay and husband John of Butler, Missouri; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul John Diehl Sr. in 2010; two sons, David and Doug Diehl; two brothers, Bob and Ralph Burkhart; and one sister, Theo Durst.

Betty Lee Spratt, age 94 of Nevada, Missouri died Friday, June 2, 2017 at Nevada Regional Medical Center. She was born April 22, 1923 to Ray Edwin and Laura Jane Hamilton Bainter in Liberal, Missouri.

Betty is survived by a son, Cris Spratt and wife Joyce of Milo, Missouri; a daughter, Renee Spratt of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandsons, Ricky Spratt and wife Kristy of Texas, David Spratt and wife Jacquelin of Nevada, Missouri and Matthew Spratt and wife Melissa of Holden, Missouri; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Spratt; two brothers; and three sisters.

Obituary - Lorraine Elizabeth Peterson

Lorraine Elizabeth Peterson
Lorraine Elizabeth Peterson, age 90, of Belton, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on June 3, 2017. 

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Missouri. Graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 8, at Belton Cemetery. Contributions may be given to St. Sabina Catholic Church or to Wayside Waifs. 

Lorraine was born July 11, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Sheehan. Lorraine graduated from Belton High School in 1944. On April 13, 1946, Lorraine married, Arthur “Pete” Peterson, and together they were blessed with two children, Steve and Sandy.

For more than 30 years, Lorraine worked for the IRS and retired as Manager of Adjustments in 1990. She worked for MidAmerican Promotions until age 87. She was a member of St. Sabina Catholic Church. At home, she had a passion for cooking, baking and hosting various events. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time with her beloved dog, Bella.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Peterson; son, Steve Peterson; father, Joseph Sheehan; mother, Elizabeth Cunningham and husband, K.R. Cunningham; brother, Bill Sheehan; and sister, Dorothy Feeback. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Anderson (Mel); daughter-in-law, Phyllis Peterson; five grandchildren, Steve G. Peterson, Bill Peterson (Alicia), Sara Bradley, Kara Anderson, and Chris Anderson (Andrea); five great-grandchildren, Ross, Sierra, Brennan, Keegan, and Lana.
