Obituary -Tracy Lynn Michael

Tracy Lynn Michael age 51 of Pleasant Hill, Missouri departed this life Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Lee's Summit Medical Center, Lee's Summit, Missouri surrounded with family and love.

Tracy is survived by her mother, Karyn S. Bower of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; her father, LeRoy Bower of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; a son, Joshua Ira Trull and his wife Jill of Lee's Summit, Missouri; a daughter, Karyn A. Trull of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; three brothers, Darren Stewart of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Steve Bower of Winfield, Kansas, and Phil Sears of Grove, Oklahoma; a sister, Lori Evans of Moran, Kansas; two grandchildren, Paisley and Emmylou; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Cremation.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Donate Life.

Don Durbin Honored as 2017 Adrian Parade Marshall

Jefferson City, Missouri: Don Durbin, Adrian, MO, was recently honored with a Missouri House Resolution and a US Flag flown over the Missouri Capitol. 

Mr. Durbin was recognized as the 2017 Parade Marshall for Adrian's Independence Day Celebration, annually organized by the Adrian Optimist Club. 

The presentations were made by District 126 State Representative Patricia Pike during the downtown parade procession, July 1, 2017. 

Don and wife, Dorothy, led this year's parade festivities along with 2016 Parade Marshall, Mike Peterson, whose 2016 parade events were rained out last year.




Deepwater man seriously injured in Henry County rollover accident

On 7/2/17 around 12:55pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County along with Henry County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Route Z just east of SE 331 Private Drive.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2004 Buick driven by 58 year old John E. Vansel traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a driveway edge which caused the vehicle to become airborne before overturning coming to rest on its top facing northeast.

Mr. Vansel sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Golden Valley Tow.

Domestic Assault investigated on Interstate I-49

On June 24th 2017 the Barton County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a assault which had just occurred on interstate I-49. When the deputies arrived on scene the deputies was told that a male suspect had struck the female subject with a can of beer in the face. 

Whenever the deputies located the male subject walking on I-49 and conduct an interview with him on what occurred he advised he did not strike the woman however he did dump his beer out on her. There was four minor children in the vehicle at the time of the domestic situation. 

The deputy spoke with the children to find out what had occurred in the vehicle. At the conclusion of the investigation the male subject was arrested for domestic assault. 

The male subject was identified as Curtis Lee Owen, age 36, of Carthage Missouri.
The report will be sent to the Barton County prosecuting attorney for consideration of filing criminal charges.









Obituary - Joseph J. Chambless

Joseph J. Chambless age 63 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Saturday, July 1, 2017 at ABC Health Center, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the care of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Services are pending.
