Adrian man injured in Cass County accident

On 7/4/17 around 11:35am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with the Peculiar Police Department  responded to a one vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of I-49 around Mile Marker 164.8 in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 58 year old Scott A. Morrison of Adrian, Missouri applied brakes to avoid hitting another vehicle causing the vehicle to run off the right side of the roadway and strike a concrete drainage ditch.

Mr. Morrison sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported to Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow.

Police Chase in Butler ends in Henry County

On 2017-07-03 around 1830 hours a Butler Police Department Officer conducted a vehicle stop for traffic violations. 

While the officer spoke with the driver and occupant of the vehicle the driver sped away from the officer at which time the officer initiated a vehicle pursuit. 

The pursuit proceeded south on Interstate 49 to the 52 East exit where the pursuit went east on 52. The officer continued to pursue the vehicle as it continued to BB highway at high rates of speed. 

The vehicle then continued on BB Highway to H Highway and then east into Henry County. Officers continued to pursue the vehicle into Henry County as the vehicle continued to flee at high rates of speed. Spike strips were deployed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the pursuit continued to 13 Highway were the suspect vehicle crashed into a ditch. After a short foot pursuit the driver was taken into custody by Butler Officers.

The passenger was also taken into custody and the driver and passenger were taken to the Bates County Jail pending formal charges. Numerous narcotics and stolen merchandise were located in the vehicle.

The Butler Police Department was assisted by the Bates County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.









Harrisonville woman injured on Lake of the Ozarks

On 7/3/17 around 12:35pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Camden County responded to a report of a person who was ejected from a watercraft at Mile Marker 44.5 on the Osage Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2004 Yamaha PWC driven by 26 year old Faith M. Lockett of Harrisonville, Missouri struck a large wake and she lost footing and was ejected and struck by the watercraft.

Faith M. Lockett sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was transported by private vehicle to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.













Drexel 4th of July parade cancelled due to rain

Unfortunately due to the constant rain this morning the Drexel Lions Club has cancelled the parade for this July 4th. 

Lunch will still be served in the park at 11:00 am. All other activities are still scheduled at this time.

Harrisonville woman injured in Cass County crash

On 7/3/17 around 5:30pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Raymore Police Department responded to a one vehicle accident on 58 Highway just west of Ward Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2003 Pontiac driven by 22 year old Kourtney L. McBee of Harrisonville, Missouri fell asleep and ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a mailbox, fence then tree.

Kourtney L. McBee sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Belton Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The vehicle received extensive damages and was towed from the scene by Lazer Tow.
