Updated Obituary - Peggy Lou Wade

Peggy Lou Wade
Peggy Lou Wade passed away peacefully July 29, 2017, at the age of 60. Born to Donald Richard and Nora Nadine Wade, Peggy lived most of her life in the Garden City area. She was proud of the small community she lived in and was a member of the committee that helped make the Garden City Aquatic Center a reality.

Peggy worked for GM Leeds Assembly plant with her dad and later owned and maintained many properties around Garden City. She was an avid fiber artist. She was a fan of Russell Stover’s chocolates and enjoyed treating her great nieces and nephews to treats, which was a tradition she continued on from her father. She liked telling the history of family and Garden City.

Peggy had too many friends to count. She recently helped organize a class reunion for Sherwood High School which she graduated from in 1974. She was willing to lend a helping hand and enjoyed hosting a good party. She lived life in a true “Towanda” fashion, with spunk and spontaneity never worried about what others would think.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and her longtime canine companion, Abbey.

She is survived by her sister, Beverly Sue Stauffer and her husband Stephen of Franklin, Indiana; three nephews, Mitchell Wade Stauffer and his wife Jennifer of Trafalgar, Indiana, Erich Douglas Stauffer and his wife Suzanne of La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Scott Bradley Stauffer and husband Dennis Christenson of Bargersville, Indiana. Peggy had nine great nieces and nephews; Kya Grace, Magdalena Eusevia, Carmina Gabriela, Kevin Clayton, Samuel Stephen Joseph, Keilyn Joy, Kira Faith, Amalia Nora Nadine, and Lilianna Helen.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Garden City Community Building, Garden City, Missouri with a memorial service to be held at 12:00 noon. Inurnment will be in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Meals and be sent in care of Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 101, Garden City, Missouri 64747.
