A historical day of learning for local students


Yesterday, local school children enjoyed a day of learning history in a fun way at Frontier Village in Adrian. Included were rides on horse drawn wagons, spinning and weaving demonstrations, making fresh apple cider and ice cream. There were also animals including a milk cow, sheep and more.

The day was centered around learning more about the Osage Tribe and the history of Harmony Mission in Bates County.

Local students learn proper flag retirement etiquette


The Adrian VFW Post 1935 hosted a flag retirement ceremony at Frontier Village yesterday, where youngsters watched first hand the procedure to respectfully honor and properly retire worn flags. -our thanks to Adrian VFW Post 1935






Drexel R-4 to be 'growing' soon...


GROUNDBREAKING COMPLETED as work begins on a new greenhouse located on the east side of the school property. The greenhouse will be operated by the Drexel FFA and will give students hands-on experience with all types of flowers and greenery. Mid America Live will provide updates as the project moves ahead.




Adrian man escapes serious injuries in one vehicle accident

On 10/3/17 around 11:45pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle accident on CR NW 1001 just south of AA Highway north of Adrian.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2014 Dodge driven by 34 year old William N. Beard of Adrian, Missouri traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.

Mr. Beard sustained moderate injuries in this accident but he refused medical treatment at the scene.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow of Harrisonville, Missouri.
