Nineteen women attended the 3D Mammo Walk-In Clinic on Saturday, October 28
Nineteen women attended the 3D Mammo Walk-In Clinic on Saturday, October 28. The clinic was scheduled to provide a more convenient time for women to get a baseline or regular annual screening.
Chris Pope, BCMH Director of Imaging Services, said most women attending were in their 40s and had not received a baseline mammogram before. Several of the women came with friends, and there was at least one mother and daughter who came together.
“Many of them told me they had been meaning to do this for years,” Pope said.
The clinic was available for the insured and uninsured. Uninsured attenders were registered through the BCMH Cares program, a fund providing mammograms for uninsured women.
