Joplin man arrested in Bates County
On 10/31/17 around 9:50pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 62 year old Dale E. Shinn of Joplin, Missouri.
Mr. Shinn was arrested for 1.) Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine 2.) Driving While Intoxicated 3.) Driving While Suspended 4.) Speeding.
He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler, Missouri and placed on a 12 hour detox hold.

Nevada man charged with Felony Rape and Sodomy
On Tuesday 10/31/17 the Vernon County Prosecuting Attorney arraigned 26 year old Alejandro Gasca-Floris of Nevada, Missouri on two unclassified Felonies for 1.) Felony Rape 2.) Felony Sodomy.
The investigation into this incident was conducted by the Nevada Police Department.
Mr. Gasca-Floris was booked into the Vernon County Jail in Nevada, Missouri and placed on a $100,000 bond.

Obituary - David Duane Foland
David Duane Foland passed away in Bella Vista, Arkansas, on October 31, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers Jay, Gene, and Wayne.
A devoted son, husband, and father, Dave is survived by his best friend and wife, Kay, of 56 years, his loving children daughter Erin Peterson, and son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lynne Foland, and our sweetest grandson, Brody.
David was born in Nevada, Missouri, on August 25, 1938, to Lois Gretelle Rinehart Foland and John Elbert Foland. In 1956, he graduated from Nevada High School. He attended the University of Missouri. He received a degree in installment credit at the University of Oklahoma and in 1974, in banking from the University of Nebraska.
He began his financial career as a manager of Household Finance Corporation Office for thirteen years, Vice President of Thorton Bank, Nevada, Missouri, Executive Vice President of Security State Bank Ft. Scott, Kansas and President of Arvest Bank Gravette, Arkansas. As a career-banker, he took great pride in advising and helping his customers.
With a zest for life, Dave had boundless energy, and an ever-contagious smile. He enjoyed playing golf, farming, riding horses, and making his “secret” fudge recipe while watching the Kansas City Chiefs. David was a life-long member of the First Christian Church.
He will always live in the hearts of those he touched, for nothing loved is ever lost and he is loved very much.
Private graveside services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Newton Burial Park in Nevada with Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association in c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Warrant Arrest made in Harrisonville
On 10-27-2017 at approximately 1945 hours, Investigators from the Harrisonville Police Department arrested Christopher R. Stephens for an active no bond warrant out of Wright County, Missouri charging him with Dangerous Drugs. During the investigation, investigators discovered approximately a quarter of a pound of methamphetamine.
In the month of October members of the Harrisonville Police Department recovered approximately 208.2 grams of methamphetamine with a total street value of approximately $28,000.00.

This was in large part due to tips supplied to the Harrisonville Police Department by concerned citizens and proactive police work throughout the department. This is a great example of a community working with its Police Department to combat the drug issues in Harrisonville.
Obituary - Jennifer White Mills
Jennifer White Mills , 46, of Archie, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her home.
She is sure survived by her husband, Chris Mills and son Caleb of the home, her mother Carol Allen of the home, an adopted grandfather, Ernie Lambert of the home, her father David White and step-mother Vicky of Raymore, Missouri, a sister, Rhonda Parks, Kansas City, Missouri, brothers ,Brian Parks and Matthew White of Harrisonville, Missouri, nephews, Jacob Parks and Carson Yantzi-White; other relatives and many friends.
She worked as a Software Project Lead at DST Pharmacy Solutions. She also worked twice monthly as a court clerk for the City of Raymore.
She loved boating and relaxing with her Husband, Chris and son Caleb at their weekend home at lake Pomme De Terre. She also enjoyed having friends and relatives visit.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Archie Boy Scouts Troop #242 or to the Archie High School Band Booster Club.
