Obituary - William F. Borman


Graveside services for William F. Borman will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler, Missouri. There is no visitation.

William Frank Borman, age 91 of Branson, Missouri died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Missouri. He was born November 29, 2017 to William Frank Sr. and Munnie May Stotsbery Borman in Des Moines, Iowa.

William is survived by his stepson, James “Jim” Hansen and wife Marsha of Butler, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Brown of Skowhegan, Maine and Barbara Hoover and husband Kent of Hollister, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dean Borman; and two grandsons, Ray and Kevin.












Drexel Lions Club and Booster Club will host a breakfast and Santa

The Drexel Lions Club and Drexel Booster Club will host a breakfast and Santa Saturday, December 9 at the Drexel Community Building. Breakfast begins at 8, and the annual Lions Club Turkey and prize drawings will begin at 9am.

29 years ago today

Today we take a moment and Remember and Pray for the Heroes lost 29 yrs ago today.

During the early morning hours of 11/29/88 the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department lost 6 Heroes as the result of an arson fire located at a construction site at 87th & Hickman Mills Drive.

Lost that horrible day were Fire Captains Gerald Halloran and James Kilventon Jr... Firefighters Thomas Fry, Luther Hurd, Robert McKarnin & Michael Oldham.

Take a moment and say a Prayer for the lost Heroes and their families along with the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department! These Heroes must never be Forgotten Rest in Peace Brothers

If you are already eyeballing the weekend....

There is only two days left in November and the snow total for the month is 0. And, if you notice those temperatures below, you can tell snow isn't in the forecast. This is the 15th time in KC's 130-year record that has happened. It's also the 3rd November in a row without a trace of snow.

As for today, you may see a light shower if you are travelling south of Interstate 70 today otherwise conditions will be mostly cloudy and dry.




Miami Lady Eagles get huge win in Varsity Basketball

Congratulations to the Miami Lady Eagles Varsity Basketball team! 

What a way to start the GVVC Conference Tournament! Number 7 seed, Miami Lady Eagles, beat Number 1 seed, Montrose Bluejays, last night in an extraordinary, thrilling, back and forth, winning basket in the last seconds of the game, kind of game!!! Great job Lady Eagles.

Anyone missing a Stanley Air Compressor?

The Butler Police Department is attempting to locate the owner of the Stanley air compressor that was recovered with other stolen items this evening.

The air compressor may have been stolen from the area of South Main Street in Butler.
