Two arrested after suspicious activity call in rural Butler

Stacey Mitchell (DOB 8/3/1973) and Rebecca Belmont (DOB 11/4/1981) were both arrested and charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree. Their bonds were set at $10,000.00 cash or surety.
Mitchell and Belmont are currently being held at the Bates County Jail in Butler.

Leona Lovell enjoyed Thanksgiving Day at the home of Garland Ginther. Other guests included Christina Douglas and sons, Jake and Clint.
On Friday evening Leona Lovell and Dale had dinner at her home with John Olson and Maryann and Brian Mundell and Jake, Alex, Austin and Johnny.
The following Sunday Jake celebrated his 5th birthday party with his Great-grandparents, Johnny and Phyllis Mundell, Aunt Crystal, Uncle Joey Riggs and kids, Joey, Marie, Jett, Jaxx and June; Grandma Lovell and Uncle Dale, his brothers Alex, Austin and Johnny plus Mom and Dad. They enjoyed cake and ice cram plus lots of gifts.
The Annual Ladies Christmas Tea was held on Sunday, December 3 at the Hume Christian Church for the Churches in Hume. Sheila Morgan gave the devotional and Julie Cooke read two poems. A great time was held with games, a song, and lots of great food. Plates of goodies were made for several in the community. If you didn’t go this year, please don’t miss this annual event next year.
The Hume Garden Club will be judging local Hume and rural area on their Christmas lights and decorations. Make sure to have your lights up and on by 6:00 p.m. on December 13. Let’s make our area beautiful
