Steven "Steve" Cary Beneke of Peculiar, Missouri was born September 18, 1946 in Albert Lea, Minnesota the son of William C. and Beverly R. (Vandermate) Beneke. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 8 days.
On February 14, 1996, Steve was united in marriage to Curtisa Allene "Allie" Turpen in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Steve was a truck driver for MDZ Trucking in Shipshewana, Indiana. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Steve attended the Gospel Fellowship Church, Grandview, Missouri when he could, otherwise he was involved with the Cowboy Church on his radio in his truck. He enjoyed fishing and loved tinkering with stuff from small engine repair to old trucks, cars, tractors and race cars. If it wasn't running when it was brought to him, it was when he was done with it.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Courtney Nicole Roebuck.
Steve is survived by his wife, Allie Beneke of the home; four sons, Dale Batson and wife Pam, Florence, Texas, Terry Batson and wife Wanda, Huntsville, Texas, Bryan Batson and wife Laura, Lansing, Kansas, Roger Batson and wife Tina, Henderson, Nevada; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Randy Beneke, Auburn, California, Ken Beneke and wife Sue, San Jose, California, Kim Beneke and wife Donna, Louisville, Kentucky, Eldy Beneke and wife DeDe, Sedalia, Missouri; two sisters, Laurie Browning and husband Lester and Sue Griffin and husband Frank all of Trinton, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Celebration of Life Services are pending.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans and may be sent in care of the Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Mo. 64701.

Obituary - Edith Mae Gimple
Edith Mae Gimple, 54, Nevada, MO passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Edith was born October 28, 1963 in Nevada to Charles Walter and Gladys Fae (Fitzpatrick) Wichael.
Edith grew up in Butler and attended school there. She has lived most of her adult life in Nevada. Edith enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, and taking caring for her children. She loved to read James Patterson, Stephen King, and study her Bible.
Survivors include her companion, Ronnie Collins of the home; two children, Aron Collins, and Breanna Collins, both of the home; two sisters, Becky McCown, Bolivar, MO, Wanda Randolph and her husband Victor, Cedar Rapids, IA; and her mother, Gladys Wichael, Bolivar. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Wichael; two sisters, Treva Jones, and Doris Allen.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada.

From the Barton County Sheriff's Office
On 12-28-2017 the Barton County Sheriff's office took a harassment and vandalism case from a employee at Mcdonalds.
The individuals involved with the complaint showed the deputy what had occurred to their vehicle.
One female believed to be a juvenile had poured a fountain drink all over the reporting party's vehicle due to some kind of argument or disagreement between the two.
The investigation is ongoing in this harassment case and both parties have been told to stay away from each other.

Harold Duane Gaylord, age 68 of Butler, Missouri died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his home in Butler. He was born September 20, 1949 to Joseph Irvin and Inez Mae Beebe Gaylord in Amsterdam, Missouri.
Duane is survived by his wife Joyce Gaylord of Butler, Missouri; one son, Richard Gaylord and wife Kristi of Butler, Missouri; one daughter, Stephanie Hendrix and husband Bryan of Grandview, Missouri; one brother, Joe Gaylord and friend Mary of Butler, Missouri; one sister, Vickie Morrow of Garden City, Missouri; two grandsons, Duane Gaylord and Zachary Snyder; one great-granddaughter, Natalee; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandsons, Dylan and Jesse Snyder.
