One vehicle accident south of Adrian

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Adrian Fire Department, Bates County Sheriff's Deputies are on scene of a one vehicle accident in the Southbound Lanes of I-49 at Mile Marker 138 just south of Adrian.

One vehicle is said to be off the roadway and we are unsure of injuries at this time.

Please slow down and drive with caution if you must be out today. As always if you can stay home!

Winter Weather Advisory Issued Until 3:00pm

National Weather Service Kansas City Missouri has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.

Portions of East Central and Northeast Kansas, Northwest and West Central Missouri. Snow up to 1 inch and slippery road conditions are possible.

Prepare for the possibility of reduced viability.
If you must be out use Extreme Caution slow down and buckle up. 

Make sure your vehicle windows are clear including your headlights and taillights.

Allow extra travel time and increase the distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you.




Move over for emergency vehicles!!

Early this morning, a St. Louis area Highway Patrol trooper was rear ended by a suspected intoxicated driver. 

The trooper was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

If you drink, don’t drive & always #MoveOver when approaching stationary emergency vehicles.

Raymore man arrested in Bates County

On 2/4/18 around 1:46am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 28 year old Matthew D. Wells of Raymore, Missouri.

Mr. Wells was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated - Persistent Offender 2.) Failure to drive on the right half of the roadway 3.) Driving While Revoked/Suspended.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and placed on a 12 hour detox hold.

Elizabeth A. Day, 107, Harrisonville, Missouri died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Golden Years in Harrisonville, Missouri. 

Arrangements are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

House Fire in Adrian

The Adrian Fire Department along with assistance of the Butler Fire Department are on scene of a structure fire at 12 W. 1st in Adrian at this time.

All occupants of the house are said be out at this time and no one is injured.
