Move over for emergency vehicles!!

Early this morning, a St. Louis area Highway Patrol trooper was rear ended by a suspected intoxicated driver. 

The trooper was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

If you drink, don’t drive & always #MoveOver when approaching stationary emergency vehicles.

Raymore man arrested in Bates County

On 2/4/18 around 1:46am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 28 year old Matthew D. Wells of Raymore, Missouri.

Mr. Wells was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated - Persistent Offender 2.) Failure to drive on the right half of the roadway 3.) Driving While Revoked/Suspended.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and placed on a 12 hour detox hold.

Elizabeth A. Day, 107, Harrisonville, Missouri died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Golden Years in Harrisonville, Missouri. 

Arrangements are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

House Fire in Adrian

The Adrian Fire Department along with assistance of the Butler Fire Department are on scene of a structure fire at 12 W. 1st in Adrian at this time.

All occupants of the house are said be out at this time and no one is injured.

Albert Kenneth "Kenney" Abnot, age 87 of Harrisonville, Missouri died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. He was born June 5, 1930 to Grover Albert and Olive Grace Elliott Abnot near Amsterdam in Bates County, Missouri.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dona Abnot of Harrisonville, Missouri; a son, Trent Fritts of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Janelle Curnutte and husband Alan of Louisburg, Kansas; six grandchildren, Tad Bitner, Stacey Kimberling and husband Paul, Jamie Henggeller and husband Brian, Dustin Hockett and wife Tonya, Lucas Curnutte and Logan Curnutte; several great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Cox of Harrisonville, Missouri, Norma Hoover of Deer Trail, Colorado and Jessie Steimel of Canyon Lake, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Fritts; three sisters, Anna Cummins, Mable Murray and Geneva Cook; and a half sister, Gertrude Comer.

This years weather class will be held in Belton's Memorial Park at the Memorial Station,602 Mauer Parkway, Tuesday, March 6, 2018. The class will start at 7pm and usually lasts for an hour to hour and a half.
