Hume Community News 3/6/18

Birthdays recently celebrated with a party at the home of Stefani Brown were Jace West who turned 4years old and Camdon Brown who turned 3 years old. We had cake & cupcakes, tons of presents and people. Grandma Harriett Bogan rode on the back of a Harley with Troy Stoughton. We had tons of fun!

Last Saturday Dale & Rhonda Headley went to Topaz, Missouri for a fact finding genealogical trip. Topaz was where Dale’s Dad was born.

There’s an old Mill and an Old General Store left standingby a stream of water from a natural spring that produces 8 to 10 million gallons of water.

Congratulations to Wyatt Swarens on receiving his community service award in Cub Scouts for doing 27 hours of community service.

The O5O club met on Monday, March 5 for a delicious carry-in dinner at the Hume Community Center.

Everett & Karen Irwin, Jeffrey and Erika Irwin, Lane, Kenzee, and Kamee attended a birthday party held for Bennett Irwin’s 12th birthday at her home in Nevada on Sunday evening. Others who enjoyed the evening were of course her parents, Jason and Cassie Irwin and brother, Isaac; Carrie Hewitt, Tom and Sandy Cooke, Ryan & Cathie Wooldridge, Paxton and Easton. Supper along with cupcakes and ice cream were enjoyed. We missed those who were unable to attend.

Our community wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Jolene Jewel Carpenter of Rhode Island formerly of Hume. Jolene attended Hume School and would have been a member of the graduating class of 1975 but moved a year or two before that. She passed away on February 26. Obituary - Ronald (Ron) Allen Warner

Ronald (Ron) Allen Warner, 58, Archie, Missouri, passed away in his home Friday, March 2, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Ron was born March 9, 1959, at the Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Missouri. He was the youngest child and only son of William (Bill) and Clissie May (Minnick) Warner. Ron was a lifelong Archie resident, graduating from Archie High School in 1977.

Over the next few years the couple grew their operation by incorporating row crops. Eventually, Ron quit trucking and farmed full-time for the rest of this life.

Ron enjoyed nothing more than sitting in a tree stand early in the morning, putting the boat in the water as the sun came up to go crappie fishing, seeing a new calf learn to stand on wobbly legs, and frying fish for a backyard full of friends and family.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Warner. Survivors include his wife, Janice Warner of Archie; daughter, Samantha Blackwell and husband, Brandon, of Morrison, Oklahoma; son, Nathan Warner of Archie, and fiancée, Julie Choate; mother, Clissie May Warner of Archie; sister, Linda Ness and husband, Jon, of Ambrose, North Dakota; sister, Sharon Jackson and husband, Mike, of Spokane, Washington; sister, Patty Grosshart and husband, Deral, of Archie; sister, Lou Stinson and husband, Scott, of McGregor, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and other family members who he loved deeply.
