Job Opening In Butler





Suspect identified in Clinton Officer Involved Shooting

James E. Waters 
The suspect in the killing of Clinton Police Officer Chris Morton last night has been identified as 37-year-old James E. Waters of Clinton.

Upon entering the home, one officer was killed, and two other officers were injured by gunfire from Mr. Waters.

Police were subsequently able to remove the officers from the house and transport them to a hospital. 


According to Missouri Highway Patrol Sgt. Bill Lowe, a SWAT scene was called to the scene. Its personnel entered the home and found suspect Waters deceased at roughly 12:10 a.m.

One in custody after burglary in progress call in Butler

Around 9:00am this morning the Butler Police Department responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence located at 110 S. Willow.

A unknown white male wearing camo was seen climbing into the window of the residence.

When officers arrived on scene they made contact and arrested the male without incident.
