Ford Motor Company and Max Motors Butler are proud to recognize the accomplishments of James Wilson as a Senior Master Technician!

Technicians, who have gone to the greatest lengths to complete Ford training, are designated as “Senior Master Technicians”. Since this award’s inception in 1999, only a small percentage of Ford technicians in the United States have achieved this level of accomplishment.

This achievement represents 15 classroom courses and 57 Web courses totaling over 500 hours of training and years of commitment by both the technicians who achieved it and the dealerships that employ them.

Obituary - Walter Earl Cundiff

Walter Earl Cundiff of Garden City, Missouri was born December 26, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Frank and Josephine (Desko) Cundiff. He departed this life on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, Missouri surrounded by family and love at the age of 82 years and 3 months.

On February 14, 1957 Walter was united in marriage to Betty Joann Stone in Kansas City, Kansas.

Walter was employed for 36 year at Allied Signal, Kansas City, Missouri as a laboratory technician until his retirement in September of 1993. He was a faithful member of Heartland Baptist Fellowship, Harrisonville and was attending Freedom Point Church,
Garden City. Walter was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed watching any type of sports and was an avid Kansas Jayhawks fan. In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. Walter never knew a stranger and was always willing to visit.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert; 2 sisters, Dolores King and Jolaine Cotton; a half-sister, Terri MacDonald.

Walter is survived by his wife, Betty Cundiff of the home; 3 sons, David A. Cundiff (Kathy), Harrisonville, Missouri, Michael Cundiff (Phenix) and Scott Cundiff (Nadine) all of Garden City, Missouri; his daughter, Debra Farwig, Belton, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 half-brothers, Tommy Cundiff, Kingston, Tennessee, Tim Cundiff, Holt, Missouri; a half-sister, Rita Maag, St. Joseph, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association.



Fatality Accident in Cass County

On 3/28/18 around 1:00pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Missouri 58 Highway at Route CC in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1993 Mazda Protege driven by 52 year old Maria Bachtel of Sugar Creek, Missouri failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the 2006 Dodge Ram driven by 77 year old James R. Willis of Blue Springs, Missouri in the door.

Maria Bachtel was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and she was transported to the Jackson County Medical Examiners Office.

Mr. Willis along with a passenger in his vehicle 76 year old Patsy A. Willis both sustained minor injuries in this accident.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene of the accident. This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 14th fatality of 2018.
