Obituary - Vic Jadlow

Vic left Earth for his heavenly home on Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born in Nevada, MO, on October 30, 1940, to Earl and Marge Jadlow. He graduated high school in Ft. Scott, KS, with the class of 1958. He married Sally Margaret Freeman in June of 1962 in Ft. Scott. 

Vic owned and operated Jadlow Dental Laboratory in Prairie Village, KS, for 47 years. His favorite pastimes included farming as well as acquiring and restoring antique tractors. He was active in many area tractor organizations including the Midwest Ford Fordson Collectors Association.

Survivors include Sally, his wife of nearly 56 years; and four children, Jennifer Karr, Trey Jadlow, Sara Nissen and husband Scott, and Joshua Jadlow. Grandchildren include Jordan Karr and wife MacKinzie, Brooke Karr, Gunnar Karr, Victor Jadlow IV, Louis Jadlow, Keilah Jadlow, Kristen Jadlow, Katarina Jadlow, Tony Jadlow, Kate Nissen, Sam Nissen, Abe Nissen, Caroline Nissen, and Clare Nissen. Also surviving is one brother, Tom Jadlow and wife Mary Lynne of Salina, KS; and one sister, Karen Smith and husband Doug of Pleasanton, KS.

Services will be held at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 137th and Rosehill, Overland Park, KS, on Friday, April 27, 2018. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM with services following at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Nevada, MO, following lunch at the church. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to either Colonial Presbyterian Church or Kansas City Hospice House which may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, PO Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701. Two arrested after Cass County Pursuit

Two people have been charged in connection with an overnight vehicle pursuit that started south of Belton, Missouri and ended in Overland Park, Kansas.

On Tuesday around 10:30 p.m. Cass County Deputies attempted to stop a black Nissan passenger car for a traffic violation in the area of E. 203 and Cleveland Road. 

The female driver, identified as Amanda Beaman, 20, Belton fled from the deputy and traveled west towards State Line Rd. During the pursuit Beaman reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.


During the pursuit the vehicle became disabled and was stopped in the area of 69 Hwy and 183rd Street. Deputies with the Cass County Missouri and Johnson County Kansas Sheriff’s Office took the driver and a passenger into custody. A third subject was detained and later released. During a search of the vehicle a firearm was recovered.

Today Amanda Beaman was charged in Cass County with Felony Resisting Arrest By Fleeing, bond was set at $4000.00 10% cash only. She is currently in custody at the Johnson County Kansas Detention Center. Justin M. Keller, 19, Overland Park, KS a passenger in the vehicle was charged in Johnson County Kansas with Firearm Possession by Felon, bond set at $50,000. He is currently in custody at the Johnson County Kansas Detention Center.





Drexel Volunteer Fire Department BBQ / Texas Hold-em / Live Music - Fundraiser

The Drexel Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a fundraising event Saturday, May 19th at the Drexel Community Building. 

Family fun begins at 4:00 pm with a live band (68 Overpass) and food provided by Burnt Offerings BBQ. For those who like a little gambling, stick around to enjoy some Texas hold-em poker. Shuffle up and dealing begins at 6:00 pm.
