The ride will end at the Lowry City Fair Grounds where there are lots of things going on. If Aislyn is feeling well enough, she will be be there.

Attention Harrisonville MWS Customers

Municipal Waste Services has a request for its Harrisonville customers. The company has separate trucks and drivers for household trash vs. yard waste. 

Sometimes, drivers have a hard time distinguishing which is which, particularly if it's in a smaller brown paper sack and/or a sack that is placed next to the regular trash cart. 

If you are setting out yard waste, you can help by making sure there is some distance between the two or by plainly marking Yard Waste on the sack. 

You can even set the yard waste of the opposite side of the driveway, if possible. If you have questions, call MWS, 816-406-9700.

4th Friday, Movie in the Park in Rich Hill

Rich Hill’s Christmas Committee, The Christmas Elves will be showing “A Christmas Story” in the West Park for Free Will Donation on Friday, May 25 at 8:30 PM.

Popcorn, beverages, and candy will be available for purchase. All proceeds will be put towards a beautification project for the community.

Cass County Homicide Victim Identified as Missing Kansas City Woman

Cass Co – On Friday, April 27, 2018 deputies were contacted by mushroom hunters who found possible human remains. Investigators responded to the area of S. Mopac Rd between E. 235th and E. 239th where they discovered a set of human remains in a wooded area.

The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the victim as Vernece A. Brown, 18, of Kansas City, Missouri. Brown was last seen on February 14, 2018 in the 3600 block of Bales Avenue. Brown was reported as missing to the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and was an active missing person case.

Detectives with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas City Missouri Police Department are working on the investigation at this time.

Obituary - Gary E. Massey

Gary E. Massey, 69, of Clinton, Missouri died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, April 28, 2018 at his home. He was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on April 13, 1949, the son of Fillmore Dale Massey and Mary Jane (Heintzelman) Massey.

He was a master mechanic with Unity Village and later employed with Adesa Corporation.

He enjoyed being outdoors with his dogs, bird watching, fishing and yard work.

Gary is survived by his wife Kristin S. Massey of the home; three sons, Jeffrey T. Moss and his wife Tabetha, Raymore, MO, Travis W. Hush, Climax Springs, MO, and Jacob T. Hush and his wife Leah, Rosamond, California; seven grandchildren; one brother, Don Massey and his wife Alison, Prairie Village, Kansas; two sisters, Donna Zion, Blue Springs, MO, and Theresa Welsh and husband Brian, Blue Springs, MO; six nieces and nephews; and his faithful furry friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
