Updated Obituary - Della "Tootie" Darlene Reynolds

Della “Tootie” Darlene Reynolds, 85, Archie, MO, died Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Adrian Manor, Adrian, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10 at the First Baptist Church, Archie, MO with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian. 

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Archie Educational Day Care Center (AEDC), Archie, or Serenity Care Hospice, Harrisonville.

Tootie was born September 18, 1932 in Nevada, IA, the daughter of Leslie and Blanche Jeanette (Hoffmeister) Adams. She was a 1949 graduate of Rockville High School. Tootie married Robert “Bob” LeClair Reynolds on May 15, 1949 in Rockville, MO. They later moved to Archie, MO.

Tootie’s childcare journey began in her home and later led to the Archie Educational Daycare Center (AEDC), where she served for some time as director. Her love for the children and their families was truly her calling and the impact of that love will be felt for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archie and the Womens Missionary Union. She was a 4-H leader and a 4-H community leader. She was a member of PTO, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Archie Creative Extension Club.

Tootie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob on April 9, 1983, her two infant sons, David Lee and Daniel Lee, and her sister, Bonnie Vermillion. She is survived by two sons, Martin Lee Reynolds (Vanessa), Las Vegas, NV and Myron Leigh Reynolds (Rachelle), Drexel, MO; two daughters, Marilyn Ann Yoakum (Donald), Harrisonville, MO and Marsha Kay Phillips (Martin), Drexel, MO; 11 grandchildren, Dawn Reid Meeks (Alan), Michelle Reynolds, Kelly Reynolds, Brandon Yoakum (Crystal), Jarod Yoakum (Melinda), Tamara Silvey, Chad Reynolds (Kristi), Chase Reynolds, Chance Reynolds, Michael Phillips (Darcy), Janelle Phillips, Nathan Phillips (McKenzie); 12 great-grandchildren, Makenna, Jacob, Abigail, Briana, Colt, Addison, Talan, Rylan, Finn, Ollie, Henry, and Kendall Kay.


Obituary - Carol Shumate

Carol Shumate, 72 of Drexel, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (660-679-0009). A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, also at the chapel. 

Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to Drexel First Baptist Church or Kansas City Hospice. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com

Carol is survived by her husband Larry Shumate of the home in Drexel and by her daughters, Cassie Shumate and Tammie Kurian.

From the Bates County Memorial Hospital

On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, Bates County Memorial Hospital has scheduled a telephone system downtime from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. This is in preparation for a new phone system installation on May 16.

Paul Leroy O’Connor Jr., age 74 of Adrian, Missouri died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Adrian Manor in Adrian. He was born February 20, 1944 to Paul Leroy Sr. and Virginia Maxine McKee O’Connor in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Paul is survived by his wife, Joey O’Connor of Adrian, Missouri; two sons, Roderick “Rod” O’Connor and wife Kym of Coral Springs, Florida and Paul “Mike” O’Connor and wife Pam of Union Star, Missouri; one sister, Donna Jean Hoff of St. Joseph, Missouri; four grandchildren; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
