Watch out for funny money

Once again we have started to see counterfeit money being passed around to local stores in our area. Please be careful when taking cash from someone. We are continuing to see mostly twenty dollars bills that are counterfeit.

A current trend we are seeing is money that states "for motion picture use only" and bills that have foreign writing on them. We have attached a couple exemplar photos of the types of counterfeit money we have been seeing in the area.

We encourage local businesses to invest in a counterfeit detection pen to help prevent them from being a victim. If you have any questions about counterfeit currency call the Nevada Police Department at 417-448-5100 to speak to an officer.
