Power Outage in Vernon County

Members of Osage Valley Electric in the Metz area are currently without power. 

Crews are working to make repairs and restore power as quickly as possible.

Kansas City man injured in St. Clair County Crash

On 5/16/18 around 4:42am the Missouri State Highway patrol in St. Clair County responded to a one vehicle semi truck accident on Missouri 13 Highway around 4 miles north of Collins, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2016 Peterbilt driven by 42 year old Adam W. Jarrett of Kansas City, Missouri traveled off the left side of the roadway, driver over corrected and traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Mr. Jarrett sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to CMH Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Mikes Wrecker Service of Collins, Missouri.

Structure Fire in Passaic

The Butler Fire Department along with Adrian Fire Department are on scene of a structure fire located at a single wide trailer house residence located at on the SW side of McBee's in Passaic at this time.

Fire Crews are on scene and are working on putting this fire out at this time and no one is said to be injured at this time.

Obituary - Deanna Jean Spears

Deanna Jean Spears, 78, Harrisonville, Missouri was born July 4, 1939 in Kaw, Missouri the daughter of William P and Rose (Ballue) McCannon. She departed this life on Thursday, May 16, 2018 at the Crown Care Center, Harrisonville at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 12 days.

On November 7, 1959, Deanna was united in marriage to Arthur Emery Spears.

Deanna loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #385, Independence, Missouri and enjoyed playing bingo at Crown Care.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Spears on March 25, 2013; a brother, Jerry McCannon and a sister, Virginia Pressley.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Cates and husband Autry, Garden City, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Edwin Allen Cline, 64, Odessa, MO, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. 

Memorial services are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.
