Obituary - Charley Aaron Wisdom

Charley Aaron Wisdom, age 74, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at the Bates County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Worland, Missouri on June 26, 1943 the son of Harry Otis and Olinea Chamberlain Wisdom. He graduated from Hume High School. He married Lois Bradley on August 17, 1963. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Marion, Shumway and Ricky Wisdom, and one sister, Nancy Schmidt. 

He attended Liberty Worship Center, enjoyed pulling ponies and putting up hay. He was always helping others, this fact was expressed even after his passing, as he was an organ donor. The most important part of his life was his love for his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. 

Charley is survived by two sons, David Wisdom and Jeff Wisdom and wife Mindy, daughter, Joyce Brown and Dale Freidline, three sisters: Lillie Hill, Edith Kirby and Ida Kaufman, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

A gathering to celebrate Charley''s life will be held 6:30 Monday June 4, 2018 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6:30 pm. 

The family will announce the date of inurnment at the Benjamin Cemetery in Amoret, Missouri at a later date. The family suggests contributions to Linn County Care to Share or Charley Wisdom Memorial. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.


Update: 16 year old injured in Bates County ATV rollover accident

On 5/31/18 around 1:40pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Butler Fire Department, Bates County EMS and Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle ATV rollover accident on Missouri H Highway around 1 mile west of CR 9503 east of Butler.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2007 Honda Rancher ATV driven by 16 year old Ryan A. Baker of Mascoutah, Illinois overturned on a embankment coming to rest in a ditch.

Ryan A. Baker sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by private vehicle to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

ATV Rollover Accident east of Butler

The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Butler Fire Department, Bates County EMS and Bates County Sheriff's Deputies are responding to a ATV accident on H Highway just west of CR9503 in eastern rural Butler.

The occupant of the 4 wheeler was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

Please avoid this area as several emergency personnel are arriving to the scene.

From the desk of Bates County Coroner Greg Mullinax

On Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at approximately 4:55 PM the Bates County Coroner responded to a residence in the 800 block of West Grove Street in Butler at the request of the Butler Police Department. A deceased individual was found inside a residence following a requested wellbeing check from a concerned neighbor.

Due to the length of time prior to discovery, the Coroner was unable to complete a positive identification of the deceased on-scene. An identity is presumed, and foul play is not suspected. To confirm identity and assist in determining cause of death, an autopsy has been ordered by Coroner Greg Mullinax.

No further information is currently available.
