Temperatures Hitting The Up Button!

Going up?? Why, yes we are! Near normal temperatures today will give way to a return to above normal temps as we move into the middle of the week when we will see a return of 90+ degree temps.

Through 6/3...KC has already had 7 days of 90+ degrees this year. That is tied for the 4th most this early in the season. On average we would normally only have 1 to 2 by this point.

Obituary - Betty Irene Holder Stanley

Services Wednesday at 10:00 AM in Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Stockton Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the funeral Home

Betty Irene Holder Stanley of Stockton, Missouri died peacefully on June 2, 2018 on her 91st birthday. She was born in Caplinger Mills, Missouri on June 2, 1927 to Lionel James and Inez Holder. She was the oldest of seven children. On May 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Francis Stanley who preceded her in death in 1984. To this union, six children were born. In addition to raising six children, Irene worked at the Nevada State Hospital for twenty-five years from which she retired in 1989.

She loved sewing, gardening, traveling with her children and loving her Lord. She was saved as a young girl and was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church services as often as she could and her church family was very special to her. Irene loved her family with all of her heart, soul, and being. She worried about her family’s well-being and health concerns more than she did her own.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband, were her parents, three brothers: William, Ed and Albert Holder, one sister, Norma Meadows and son-in-law, Bob Wheeler.

She is survived by six children, Larry (Lynette) Stanley, Jerico Springs, Betty Hornick (Mark) Chesterfield, Virginia, Sharon Wheeler, Milo, Sandra Stanley (OB), Independence, Janice Giddens (Kent) Rolla, and Kent Stanley, Rolla. Grandchildren: Marla (Michael) Mohan, Arnold, Michelle (Robert) Hoffmann, Jerico Springs, James Wheeler (Jessica), Springfield, Heather Quilenderino (Johnny), Virginia Beach, Virginia, Blake Giddens, Dallas, Texas, Brooke Giddens, Chicago, Illinois and Mindy Stanley, Rolla. Great-Grandchildren: Cole Hoffmann, Clay Hoffmann, Luke Mohan, Lucy Mohan and Justin Krecker. Two brothers: Gene Holder, Jerico Springs and Roy Holder, Liberal and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thank-you is given to Dr. John Torontow, her primary care physician for fifty-two years.

Services were held on Wednesday, June 6 at the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Benham officiating. Burial in the Stockton Cemetery.
