Garden City Police recover stolen motorcycle
At about 7:58 this morning Officers of the Garden City Police Department saw a suspicious motorcycle in the parking lot in the 100 block of Old 7 Hwy. The motorcycle had altered license plates.
Upon further inspection officers noticed the vehicle identification numbers had been removed. Officers impounded the vehicle pending further investigation and a suspect has been identified

Obituary - Joan W. Gieselman
Joan W. Gieselman, age 81, died on July 29, 2018, at St. Luke’s South Hospital.
Joan was born on December 13, 1936, in Montrose, MO, to Bernard and Magdalene ‘Bettels’ Swaters. Joan attended school in Montrose, MO. She also attended 2 years of college. She was a homemaker. Joan married Raymond Gieselman on February 11, 1956 in Montrose, MO.
Joan is survived by her children, Kenneth John, Karen Magdalene, Carl Bernard, Diane Agnes, Edward James, Anita Ann and Janet Marie; 11 grandchildren, Nicole Christine, Austin Dee, Shelby Anne, Brianna Nicole, Sylvia Madison, Nicholas Preston, Cash Thomas, Brooke Elizabeth, Audrina Ray, Giselle Ann and Jonathan Ray; and siblings, James Swaters and Arlene Holmes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; and a brother, Robert ‘Bob’ Swaters.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 3, 2018, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 9:00 AM, with a Funeral Mass following at 10:00 AM. Inturment will conclude the service at Englewood Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church and left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd, Clinton, MO 64735.

Two vehicle accident on I-49 near Peculiar
The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies are in route to a two vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of I-49 just south of Peculiar at this time.
The accident is said to have happened in the construction zone near Peculiar between a semi truck and a motorcycle.
We are unsure of injuries at this time and please expect even longer delays in this area.
