Activity Report for the period July 16 – 31, 2018:
 
·3 Nursing Home/Hospice type deaths were reported for the period. None required further investigation. 

·On July 25, 2018 at approximately 2:30 AM the Coroner was called to a residence on S. Mechanic St. in Butler.

Creston D. Alcorn was pronounced by Coroner Greg Mullinax. Further information is not provided at this time.

Obituary - Richard “Chris” Spratt

Richard “Chris” Spratt, 68, of Milo, MO passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 in Joplin, MO.

Funeral arrangements and family information will be announce later by Ferry Funeral Home of Nevada as they come available.

Schell City woman injured in two vehicle Vernon County Crash

On 8/3/18 around 12:25pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County responded to a two vehicle accident on US 54 around 2 miles east of Nevada.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1999 Suburu Legacy driven by 23 year old Dakota J. Collins of Schell City, Missouri attempted to pass a line of cars and struck the 2002 Mazda B2300 driven by 25 year old Aaron B. Houser of Ft. Scott, Kansas.

A passenger in Mr. Collins vehicle 31 year old Lace E. Gunter of Schell City, Missouri sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Suburu received extensive damages and was towed from the scene by Southeast Auto of Nevada, Missouri

Obituary - Kevin Wayne Dawson

Kevin Wayne Dawson age 55 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Thursday, August 2, 2018 as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Services are pending under the care of Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.

A complete obituary and service times will be posted here as soon as that information becomes available.

Update: Denver Colorado man injured in Cass County motorcycle accident

On 8/3/18 around 7:57am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a motorcycle accident in the south bound lanes of I-49 around mile marker 165.4 south of Peculiar.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2008 Harley Davidson driven by 31 year old Christopher R. Hale of Denver, Colorado lost control of the bike for a unknown reason causing the bike to overturn and eject the rider.

Mr. Hale was seriously injured in this accident and he was transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The Harley was totaled and towed from the scene by J's Southland Tow.
