Three injured in two vehicle St. Clair County Crash

On 9/14/18 around 3:35pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County along with St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at Missouri 52 Highway and Route A around 1 mile east of Appleton City.

The Missouri State Highway says the accident occurred when the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 69 year old Eva L. Hadsall of Schell City, Missouri was stopped in traffic attempting to make a left hand turn when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2007 Chrysler Sebring driven by 18 year old Maycie M. Frost of Appleton City, Missouri.

Three women sustained moderate injuries in this accident Maycie M. Frost, Eva L. Hadsall and 66 year old Sharon M. Schlichting of Schell City, Missouri. All three women were transported by ambulance to Ellett Memorial Hosptial for treatment.

Both vehicles received extensive damages and the Jeep was towed from the scene by Bulldog Towing of Appleton City.

Obituary - Karen Kay (Stuffings) Ahlemann

Karen Kay (Stuffings) Ahlemann of Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2018 at the age of 77. Born in Pleasanton, Kansas, she was preceded in death by her parents, Manford and Lula (Cantwell) Stuffings, and her older brother Merlyn Stuffings. 

She is survived by Fred Ahlemann, her husband of 34 years; her sister Virginia Kohl of Overland Park; her daughter Verna (Collins) McMullin, son-in-law Chris McMullin and grandchildren Lanie and R.C. McMullin, all of Olathe, KS. She leaves many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Karen retired from Metcalf State Bank in Overland Park after a 41 year career. She had many cherished friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 23, 2018 3-5 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. Graveside service will be Monday, September 24, 2:00 p.m. at Littell Cemetery outside Pleasanton, KS.

Obituary - Rosemary A. Hardinger

Rosemary A. Hardinger, age 72, of Clinton passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at Clinton Healthcare. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018, 11:00 AM at Vansant-Mills Funeral Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. 

Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 AM prior to service. Inurnment will be in the Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to C.A.R.E. (Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor) and may be left in care of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home. Condolences and fond memories can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

Rosemary owned and operated Riffel's Flowers along side her husband Sam, and Bloomer's Flower Shop for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clinton. She graduated from Clinton High School class of 1964. She was a past president of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce. She also volunteered for the Chamber and Main Street. She loved going to auctions and playing bingo. She was a member of the Eagles Aries.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hardinger; her parents, Hadley and Carmen Leonard; an infant daughter, Susan; and two sisters Sheila and Judith.

Survivors are her children Andrea Hardinger and Jason Hardinger; grandchildren, Jenni Schmitt, Caleb Terry, Kevin Williams, Cheyenne Harmon, Sheridan Houk, and Conner Tuley; and great-grandchildren, Colson Terry and Piper Schmitt.


Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
