Clinton Man Stabbed/Suspect in custody

At around 8:30 P.M., Monday night Clinton Police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East Grandriver Street in reference to a subject who had been stabbed during a physical altercation there. Upon arrival, officers found a 26 year old male resident of the home had been stabbed in the abdomen.

Officers applied a pressure dressing to the man’s wound before medics arrived from the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. The victim was then transported to the hospital where he was flown to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. It appears he will survive his wound.

An investigation at the scene revealed that there had been an altercation inside the residence involving several people who also reside there. One of the residents, 50 year old Terry Lee Warren, arrived home after a trip to a local convenience store where was supposedly in a fight with someone in the parking lot. As he told his story to the other residents of the home, he became enraged and punched a couple of holes in the drywall of the living room. When a woman who also resides at the home took issue with him damaging the wall, he slapped her. That is when the stabbing victim intervened between the two and was stabbed in the abdomen. Warren was then subdued by two other residents and disarmed. Warren then fled the area on foot and a 911 call was made to summon help for the victim. Clinton Police Detectives processed the crime scene and recovered the knife that the victim was stabbed with. Warren was located hiding behind a parked vehicle in the area of 8th and Ohio Street a short time later and was placed under arrest for 24 hour investigation of Assault in the First Degree with a bond of $25,000.
