Sheldon man injured in Cedar County rollover accident after attempting to flee from police

On 9/22/18 around 6:00pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cedar County responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Route B around 2 miles NW of Jerico Springs, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2002 Chevrolet 1500 driven by 39 year old Michael A. Carr of Sheldon, Missouri was attempting to elude a Cedar County Sheriff's Deputy when he traveled off the roadway and overturned.

Michael A. Carr sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Mike's Wrecker of Stockton, Missouri.

Charges for fleeing and eluding are pending at this time.

Three year old child struck by vehicle in Prescott Kansas

On 9/23/18 around 4:00pm the Kansas State Highway Patrol responded to a child that was struck by a car near Main Street in Prescott, Kansas.

The Kansas State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when Jilliann Foxworth age 3 of Prescott, Kansas was crossing a alley near Main Street in Prescott when she was struck by a Kia Sorrento driven by 65 year old Rebecca Snelson of Prescott, Kansas.

Jilliann Foxworth was injured in this accident and she was  transported to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for medical treatment.

Monett man arrested in Bates County

On 9/23/18 around 10:12pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 18 year old Nathan W. Scott of Monett, Missouri.

Mr. Scott was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Failure to drive in the right lane.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and placed on a 12 hour detox hold.

Raytown man arrested on warrant in Butler

On 9/22/18 around 10:00pm the Butler Police Department arrested 32 year old Jon C. Haws of Raytown, Missouri.

Mr. Haws was arrested for 1.) Warrant - 2nd Degree Property Damages.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and placed on a $2500.00 cash/surety bond.

Hume woman arrested in Cass County

On 9/23/18 around 9:42am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County arrested 38 year old Crystal D. Hutchinson of Hume, Missouri.

She was arrested for 1.) Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine.

Crystal D. Hutchinson was booked into the Cass County Jail in Harrisonville and she was released at a later time.

55th Annual Vernon County 4-H Chicken BBQ

Funeral services for Mary Belle Graham of Bellevue, Nebraska will be 1:00 pm Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Mary Belle Graham, age 91 of Bellevue, Nebraska formerly of Bates County, Missouri died Friday, September 21, 2018 in Bellevue. She was born July 30, 1927 to Archie Lee and Edna Irene Gilmore Evans in Bates County, Missouri.

On April 1, 1966 she was united in marriage to Robert Hugh Graham who preceded her in death on August 8, 1987.

Mary is survived by three sons, William D. Tindall III, Gary Lee Tindall and Duane L. Tindall; three daughters, Suzanne D. Cox, Martha I. DeJung and Mary B. Calkins; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
