Obituary - Leroy Goodman Fisher

Leroy Goodman Fisher, 79, Archie, MO, died Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Archie with visitation from 10:00-11:00. 

Burial will be in Austin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Austin Cemetery Association.

Obituary - Dean Oldham

Dean Oldham, 74, Peculiar, MO, died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Peculiar. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Kansas City Hospice House.

Dean was born April 25, 1944 in Blue Springs, MO, the son of Edward Earl and Anna Belle (Blue) Oldham. He was a 1962 graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He married Kay Jean Nasalroad on June 26, 1982 at the First Baptist Church in Peculiar.

Dean worked for Coleman Implement in Bonner Springs for 20 years and for Tenant Company before retiring in 2006. He was a life-long resident of Peculiar. Dean was a member and a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Peculiar. He was an avid golfer and loved watching the Royals.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bob, and one sister, Francis “Frankie” Hoover. He is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; one son, Michael Oldham (Debbie), Peculiar, MO; one daughter, Nikki Lawrence (Tracy), Excelsior Springs, MO; one sister, Sherry Janssen, Peculiar, MO, and four grandchildren, Chris Woomer, Adam Woomer, Ella and Hannah Oldham.

Obituary - Faye Marie Ball

On Thursday, September 20, 2018, Faye Marie (Caldwell) Ball, passed away at the age of 80 in the comfort of her home. She was born February 12, 1938 to the late Orville Lawrence Caldwell and Maude Pearl (Robinson) Caldwell in New Franklin, MO. 

While serving in the Women’s Army Corp from 1956 to 1958, Faye met Daryl Keith Ball during an assignment in Chicago. They married October 12, 1957, in Columbia, MO.

After raising her two sons, Greg and Mike, she focused her time on volunteering in literacy and GED programs through Butler County Community College and similar organizations in El Dorado, KS and Clinton, MO. Faye enjoyed staying active with the UMW at Cassoday United Methodist Church, Good Sam’s Camping Club, Clinton United Methodist Church and the Clinton Senior Center. Faye was also an accomplished artist specializing in watercolor and oils.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Maude Cladwell. She is survived by her husband Daryl; son Greg (Cheryl) Ball of Cassoday, KS; son Mike (Debbie) Ball of Olathe, KS; grandchildren Felicia, Benjamin, Rebecca, Shawn and Brittany; great-grandchildren Klayton, Gwendolyn, Konner, Ali, and Alexander; brother George (Jean Ann) Caldwell of Colorado Springs, CO; and sister Frona (Richard) Hatfield of Centralia, MO.

On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Clinton United Methodist Church, 601 South 4th Street, Clinton, MO, visitation will be held at 10 am with the Celebration of Life service following at 11 am. Graveside services will be on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Cassoday Cemetery, corner of NE 150th Street and NE Satchel Creek Road, Cassoday, KS, at 1 pm.

Obituary - Deloris “Dee” A. Colon

Deloris “Dee” A. Colon, age 76, of Clinton, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 20, 2018.

Dee was born June 30, 1942, in Green Ridge, MO, to Elvis Nathaniel Shaw and Mary ‘Knapp’ Shaw.

After high school, she married Clyde Gipson. Together they raised four children, Steve, David, Rick and Kevin. After her husband passed, Dee married Julio Colon on October 31, 2005 in Deepwater, MO. She and Julio made their home southeast of Clinton, in the Tightwad area.

Dee made many friends working at Walmart, where she recently retired.

She was a member of the Park’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Julio of the home; six children, Steve Gipson, David (Bobbi) Gipson, Rick Gipson, Kevin (Danel) Gipson, Terry Elkins and Pamela (Rick) Hale; grandchildren, Kris (Kathy), Bret, Brooke, David, Rob, Alysa, Britney, Chase, Josephine, Brody, Alyxandria, Rhianna, Clint, Tyler, Tauri; Great-grandchildren, Jenna, Sawyer, Asher, Vivian, Mason, Mia, Natalynn, Miles, Scarlett, Violet, Seattle; Brother, Ed Shaw; other family and several friends.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Clyde Gipson; and a brother, John Shaw.

A Memorial Service for Dee will be at Park’s Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M.
