OSAGE BEACH, MO- West Central Missouri Community Action Agency (West Central) is very pleased to announce that an agency caregiver in West Central’s In-Home Health Services program, Vickie Houchin, was recently presented with the Missouri Council for In-Home Services Paraprofessional Caregiver (of the Year) Award.
The award was presented to Ms. Houchin at the Missouri Council for In-Home Services Annual Convention which was held at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, MO. Vickie has been employed with West Central for over twenty-two (22) years in the In-Home Services program and was nominated for the award by her supervisor Robyn Best. The last time a West Central Employee received this award was in 2012. When asked about Vickie, Robyn said, “Vickie has always put her client’s needs above all. She treats every client as if they are her family. She is always willing to help the agency assist other clients, which are not even hers, so that no client goes without the services they need. She checks on her clients day or night- no matter what they need. Vickie has a huge heart and is by far the best aide any client or supervisor could ask for.”
The Missouri Council for In-Home Services selects one caregiver from a partner agency each year for this award. Chris Thompson, West Central’s President & CEO said, “We are very proud of Vickie and her accomplishment. She is a dedicated employee who has provided tremendous service for many years, and her service is a great example of what service can and should be in the West Central Region.” West Central Missouri Community Action Agency is dedicated to empowering people to make a positive change by coordinating and administering resources.
