Flooding in Harrisonville

Well it happened, all of this rain has gone and caused problems.

Due to the ongoing heavy rain Ash Street is closed between Bradley and N. Lexington. Please avoid the area and DO NOT attempt to drive through.

If you encounter high standing water on a roadway never attempt to drive through it. #TurnAroundDontDrown - Courtesy of the Harrisonville Police Department

From the Linn County Kansas Emergency Management

Water is coming up in various areas around the County. The Fire Department is currently headed to a water rescue situation with an individual stuck in their home by flood waters that have reached their home.

If you live in an area prone to flooding, PLEASE evacuate now before you become trapped in your home. It is very dangerous for both you and our rescuers if we have to attempt to get to you and bring you out by boat (assuming we can even make it to you).

Rain and storms are expected to continue throughout the day/night and flooding issues are expected to get worse as is the chance for severe weather this afternoon and evening.

Mid America Live News will continue to update with more information about the flooding in Linn County.

Obituary - Edith "Edi" Lynn Arnold

Edith “Edi” Lynn Arnold, 57, Garden City, MO, died October 7, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10 at the First Baptist Church in Creighton, MO. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Rachael House or Door of Hope.

Edi was born February 14, 1961 in Columbus, OH, the daughter of Arthur and Rolla (Dille) Sage. She became a CNA in the early 1990’s where she cared for the elderly in nursing homes. She was known as the singing nurse.

Edi raised four children; two boys and two girls. Her passion was her grandchildren. She would say grandkids make motherhood worth the trouble. All her kids would say she was their best friend. On September 21, 2009, Edi married her frog prince and lived in her magical Chesterfield. She enjoyed painting various objects and writing stories of her beloved Chesterfield and its Troll King.

If you knew Edi, you knew compassion, acceptance, magic and love. She was a beautiful soul who cherished the Lord. She leaves behind her husband, Chester, of the home; two sons, Bear McCulley, Independence, MO and Matthew McCulley, Poplar Bluff, MO; three daughters, Maggi LaFollette (Ricky), Garden City, MO, Lani Vaughn (Kevin), Poplar Bluff, MO, and Tammy Fields, Shell City, MO; one brother, Harold Sage, Appleton City, MO; two sisters, Beth Argabright, Archie, MO and Rachel Gregory, Adrian, MO; 23 grandchildren; and many life-long friends.

Sheriff Kent Oberkrom reports that on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 just after 2:00 a.m. Deputy Swindell and Deputy Osman attempted to arrest Liam Michael Trail, age 43, from Buford, Georgia. Trail is wanted on Georgia warrants for Aggravated Sexual Batter and Child Molestation (3 counts).

Trail was staying with friends and relatives in the Brownington area when deputies attempted to take him into custody.
