Obituary - Donna Marie Hill

Donna Marie Hill, 69, Peculiar, MO, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. 
Donna was born February 25, 1949 in Waltham, Massachusetts, the daughter of Antonio and Alice (Chagnon) Rigoli.  She had lived in Belton, MO before moving to Peculiar.  Donna worked as a waitress at the “Hollywood Cross” restaurant in Lee’s Summit, MO. 
Donna is survived by her husband, Don, Harrisonville, MO; two sons, Richard “Rick” Rigoli, Belton, MO and David DeGouff, Peculiar, MO; his father, Antonio Rigoli, Peculiar, MO; one brother, Anthony “Tony” Rigoli, Peculiar, MO, and 5 grandchildren.



Police searching for missing Miami County Kansas woman

The Miami County Kansas Sheriff's Office is actively looking for Hazel Phillips, age 78 of Paola Kansas. She was last talked to on 10/9/2018 by family. She owns a silver 2008 Chevrolet Malibu with Kansas tag 450HLB which is also missing. 

If you have heard from Hazel, seen her or her vehicle at anytime after 10/9/2018 please call us at 913-294-3232 and ask to talk to a Detective.



Updated Obituary - Virginia L. Sieleman

Virginia L. Sieleman, 67 of Butler, passed away October 8, 2018 at her home in Butler surrounded by family. Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Mullinax Funeral Home (660-679-0009) in Butler with Bro. Terry Davis officiating. 

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 PM at Mullinax Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will at a later time in the Appleton City Cemetery. Virginia was born August 26, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of William Rex and Patricia Vaye (Heard) Evans. She was united in marriage to Bernie Sieleman and at her passing, they had been married 48 years.

Virginia is perhaps best known for her career of 40 years at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. She and Bernie belong to First Baptist Church in Butler, where Virginia taught preschool in Sunday School for 24 years. Among her favorite activities were cross-stitching and spending time with her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her father, William Rex Evans. She is survived by her husband, Bernie Sieleman; her mother Patricia Heard; brothers Bobby Evans, Billy Evans, and Bud Evans; daughters Jennifer Linton and Christa Lane; sons-in-law Chris Linton and Brad Lane; and grandchildren Khristian Horne, Michael Horne; Brandon Lane, Brice Lane and Brock Lane.



Obituary - Phyllis Ann Tillotson

Phyllis Ann Tillotson, age 76, Sugar Valley Lakes near Mound City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at her home. She was born on December 22, 1941 at Laramie, Wyoming the daughter of Adelbert and Georgia Dale Henry Kester. She married Kermit Tillotson in 1959. Phyllis worked as an RN in pediatrics. 

She was a member of the Mound City United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Teddy Richardson. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Kermit, two sons, Travis and Shawn Tillotson, a daughter, Kimberly Hall, and several grand and great grandchildren.

Obituary - Frank Denham Sumpter

Frank Denham Sumpter, 70, Nevada formerly of San Antonio, TX passed away on Monday, September 8th, 2018 at his home in Nevada MO. Frank was born April 14, 1948 in San Antonio, TX to Francis Earl and Margaret (Denman) Sumpter. Frank graduated from Del Rio High School in Del Rio, Texas, He married Kathryn Jean Remy and she survives of the home.

Frank was a good, kind and loving man that enjoyed helping and providing for his friends and family. He enjoyed fishing in his leisure time and had a great sense of humor.

In addition to his wife Kathryn, survivors include two sons, Daniel Wilson, Pleasant Hill, MO, Michael Wilson, Harrisonville, MO; four granddaughters, Danielle Wilson, Samantha Wilson, Fiona Wilson, Hazel Wilson; 1 great-grandchild, Jordan Ryane Bolding; brothers-in-law, Lance Atchley, Eric Atchley, Charley Cearley, Jon Cearley, and David; John Stuby Jr., Robert Stuby sisters-in-law, Joan Applegate; many nieces and nephews, extended family and special friends.

Private family services will be scheduled at a later date.



Obituary - David Wayne Brockway

David Wayne Brockway, age 55, passed away suddenly on October 8th, 2018 in Nevada, Missouri. He was born September 23rd, 1963 in Burlington, Iowa to Ethel Marshall and Dewayne Brockway. He moved to Kingman, Arizona when he was a teenager where he spent most of his life. He was a devoted father and beloved grandpa.

He leaves behind his mother Ethel Marshall, step mother Kathleen Brockway, sisters Jeanne Pforts and Sandy Mcelhinney, his four children Justin Brockway, Susan Davis, Jessica Cabarloc, and Joshua Brockway. He also leaves behind his 8 grandchildren Noah, Brooke, Hayden, Isaac, Kaylee, Aubrey, Delaney, and Logan.

He was predeceased by his father Dewayne Brockway and his daughter Sarah Marie. There will be a celebration of life set at a later date.
