755 grams of meth seized in St. Clair County traffic stop

We are going to give a shout out to the Osceola Police Department! On Oct. 24, someone called in to complain about a careless and imprudent driver on southbound Hwy 13. OPD Officer Stinnett was able to get the vehicle stopped. County K9 Havok was called to the scene to perform an exterior sniff test of the vehicle and did alert to the presence of narcotics.

A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of a white crystal like substance. The substance did field test positive for methamphetamine. Approximate weight, 755 grams!!

The driver of the vehicle, Steven McDowell, 47, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class A felony trafficking drugs or attempt in the first degree and possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams or less. His bond is set at $25,000 cash only.

The passenger, Ashlee Buck, 27, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class A felony trafficking drugs or attempt, class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class E felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-amphetamine or methamphetamine. Her bond is set at $25,000 cash only. Buck also has a warrant for failing to appear in court out of Greene County.

Good job on the arrest Officer Stinnett! Thank you to our deputies that provided back up and support! Good job to K9 Havok for sniffing out the bad guys stash!
