8th Annual Veterans Rally

The World War I Centennial Commemoration and Veterans Rally is just ten days away! Here is a list of names of World War I soldiers who will be added to the Veterans Monument.

If you are related to any of these men, please call the Bushwhacker Museum in Nevada at (417)667-9602 to be recognized during the program.

The truck has a transmission issue, will go backward but no forward. Otherwise the truck is in good shape.

Obituary - Wilma Dodds

Funeral services for Wilma Dodds will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel.

Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Heartland Hospice or Passaic United Methodist Church. Online condolences, www.schowengerdtchapel.com.

Wilma Jean Dodds, age 85 of Butler, Missouri passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at her home in Butler. She was born December 21, 1932 to Doley Frances and Bessie Polson Alkire in Butler.

Wilma is survived by her husband Ivan Dodds of Butler, Missouri; three sons, Caroll Dodds and wife Pam of Butler, Missouri, Tim Dodds and wife Nancy of Danville, Kentucky and Mitchell Dodds and wife Sheri of Clinton, Missouri; one daughter, Denise Hagberg of Butler, Missouri; two sisters, Patsy Quick of Butler, Missouri and Betty Black of Hermitage, Missouri; sister-in-law, Naomi Alkire of Paola, Kansas; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bud Alkire and Kenneth Alkire; two sisters, Juanita Adams and Donna Cornell; and son-in-law, Bob Hagberg.

Creepies, crawlies and cuties

Adrian, Amsterdam, Butler and other communities provided a safe environment for trick and treater's last night. Fortunately the weather cooperated as well. Many thanks to all who put time and effort into making it a fun evening
