Obituary - Betty Ann Barnes

Betty Ann Barnes, 79, Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Carnegie Village Rehab and Health Care Center, Belton, Missouri surrounded by love and family.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce Barnes and wife Debbie, Raymore, Missouri, Jeff Barnes and wife Annette, Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter, Lisa Gilbert and husband Scott, Fulton, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, JoBeth, Brady, Brett, Kholby, Madison, Stephanie and Seth; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Fischer and Judith Schaefer both of Jefferson City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with cremation to follow the service.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Carnegie Village Rehab and Health Care Center.


Obituary - Wyatt William Deel

Wyatt William Deel, 18 of Drexel, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 in his home surrounded by love, after fighting Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Giloma (DIPG) for 18 months. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Drexel High School Gymnasium. 

A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday, also at the school. Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (660-679-0009). In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Wyatt's Warriors, to continue raising money for research and a cure for DIPG and to help other pediatric cancer patients. Wyatt was preceded in death by his grandparents Wayne and Dorothy Deel and by his uncle Joe Fink. He is survived by the love of his life Maddy Jones, his parents, Dennis Deel and Tesa Hocker Deel, Martin Miles, and Mike and Kim Jones, siblings, Hunter Deel, Mandy and Doyle Catron, Jon and Nick Miles, Kyle & Izzy Jones, and Lauryn Campbell. He is also survived by his nephews and niece, Lane and Ella Catron and Blake Wyatt Shipley, grandparents, Bill and Sandy Hocker, Jan Rush (Mark McCoy), Betty Miles, and Max and Mary Miles. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous friends, and a community of warriors that rallied around him during his illness.

Prayers needed for the family of Wyatt Deel

The Butler Police Department is aware of the issue with the stoplight located at Orange and Ft. Scott St. We have contacted MoDot and they are sending someone to resolve the issue.

REMEMBER that when there is a flashing red light, you treat that intersection as a 4-way stop.



Fatality Accident in Linn County Kansas

On 11/9/18 around 7:00pm the Kansas State Highway Patrol in Linn County along with Linn County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle head on crash on K-152 around 1 mile west of LaCygne, Kansas.

The Kansas State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the westbound 1999 Honda Civic driven by 43 year old Autumn R. Robinett of LaCygne, Kansas crossed the center line of traffic and struck the east bound 2015 Chrysler 200 driven by 64 year old Karen Clemens of LaCygne, Kansas head on.

Autumn R. Robinett was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and she was transported to Schneider Funeral Home in LaCygne, Kansas.

Karen Clemens sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported to Overland Park Regional Hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Morse Auto Salvage.

Residential Structure Fire in rural Archie

The Adrian Fire Department is assisting the Central Cass Fire Department on a residential structure fire at a address located at 18104 East State Route A Highway in rural Archie at this time.
