Obituary - George Edward Kirchhofer

George Edward Kirchhofer, age 78, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his home in Clinton. Condolences and fond memories may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com. 

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 2pm with visitation one hour prior to service at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Twin Lakes Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Born on November 23, 1939 in St. Louis County to parents Elmer Arthur and Marie Kirchhofer. On February 14, 1982 he married Joan Wiley in Hermann, Mo, whom he preceded in death.

In his early years he was an Eagle Scout, he worked summers laying telephone cables, drove a barge on the Missouri River and also worked at Green Giant Cannery.

He attended college at University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, receiving a Masters degree in Physical Education. He taught in Raytown, Mo. Later he became the executive Vice President at Boatman's Bank in Raytown. In 1982 he and Joan purchased K&K enterprises otherwise known as Talley Amusements and Sign Co. where he worked until 2006.

He belonged to the Rotary, Optimist, Eagles and Elks Clubs. He served 2 terms on City Council, was a member of the Merit board and part of their famous cook team. He was a member and trustee of the United Methodist Church of Clinton, Mo.

He loved his family and friends. He also enjoyed telling stories and finding common ground with whomever he was talking to.

He is survived by son, George T. (Tammy) Kirchhofer, Kingsville, Mo and daughter Beth (Wes) Frentrop, Olathe, Ks, one step daughter Jennifer Clouse and daughter in law Natalie Entrop both of Clinton, Mo, 10 grandchildren Summer, Autumn and Skyler Kirchhofer, Ashley Jones, Garrett and Emily Frentrop, Cassi (Chris) Ferris, Cayleigh Clouse, Brian Campbell, Lacey (Kyle) Goth, great grandchildren Alia Jones, Jaxon Johnna and Ryan Ferris, Akillian Clouse and Jemma Goth, one brother Bob (Nancy) Kirchhofer of Hermann, Mo, 3 nieces and 6 nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.


Obituary - Daniel E. Jones

Daniel E. Jones, age 84, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, Missouri 64131.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Raymore Christian Church 500 Peace Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083 or Alzheimer’s Association Heart of America 3846 West 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208.

Daniel was born on March 3, 1934 in Meadville, Missouri. He was the son of Howard F. Jones and Ina Faye Baker. Growing up Daniel was an only child.

In the summer of 1960, he married his wife Lois on August 13th. Together they were blessed with four children, Christopher, Alan, Barbara, and Debra. He worked as a computer analyst for Honeywell, formerly known as Bendix, for 35 years before retiring.

Daniel is preceded in death by his father Howard Jones; mother Ina Jones; and step-mother Maudine Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lois Jones; four children Christopher Jones (wife Jessica), Alan Jones (wife Shellie), Barbara Weeks (Greg), and Debra Jones; and six grandchildren, Grant, Justin, Megan, Kodi, Cameron, and Emma.

Obituary - John Wayne Cordell

John Wayne Cordell, 71, Clinton, MO, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. No services are scheduled.

John was born July 17, 1947 in Harrisonville, MO, the son of Claude Harold and Mary Alice (Davis) Cordell. He married Ruth Ann Emery on October 12, 1968 in Lansing, KS. John worked for Henry County, Missouri Road and Bridge for 20 years before retiring.

John is survived by his wife, Ruth Cordell, of the home; one son, John Wayne Cordell, Jr., Concordia, MO; one daughter, Sheila Rice, Hickory, NC; two sisters, Sharon Burton, Holden, MO and Carol Julian, Clinton, MO; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Obituary - Larry Francis Eason

Larry Francis Eason, 76, Drexel, Missouri died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Pleasant Hill Health and Rehab Center in Pleasant Hill, MO.

The family will receive friends 9:30-10:30am Monday, November 19, 2018, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. A masonic service, under the auspices of the Grand River Masonic Lodge #276, will be held 10:30am Monday, with the funeral service to follow. Burial in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO.

Contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice or Pulmonary Rehab at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville.

From the Benton County Sheriff's Office



On November 9th Sharlie S. Coats 42 of Warsaw was arrested and detained on a 24 hour investigative hold. 

A search warrant for Coats residence was conducted by the Warsaw Police Department, assisted by Mid Missouri Drug Task Force and the Benton County Sheriff's Office. 

Coats was released pending lab results from all the material recovered.
