Obituary - Virginia Lee Ketchum

Virginia Lee Ketchum, 88, Harrisonville, Missouri died Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Ketchum; 3 sons, Mike Doherty and wife Joan, Patrick "Pat" Doherty and wife Janice, David Ketchum and wife Charlotte; 3 daughters, Joie Foster and husband Martin, Nancy Westhoff and husband Bernie, Pamela "Pam" Brown; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Private family services.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Update Obituary - Beverly Tinsley

Beverly Jeanne Tinsley, 88, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Harrisonville with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.

Beverly was born August 21, 1930 in Nevada, MO, the daughter of Clovis and Goldie (Milligan) Etter. She grew up in Nevada and was a 1948 graduate of Nevada High School. Beverly had worked for Southwestern Bell in Nevada for 11 years. She married Donald Oliver Tinsley on February 14, 1959. They moved to Harrisonville, MO in 1965.

Beverly was a beloved aunt and friend to all who met her. Most of her nieces and nephews called her Aunt Bebber. She found joy in cooking for family and friends. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, enjoying hosting dinner for over 50 years. She entered eternal life on Thanksgiving.

Beverly was an active member of the First Christian Church in Harrisonville and had been the bereavement dinner coordinator for many years. She also was an excellent cook and had a business making cakes for many years.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, January 13, 1996, one brother, and three sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Sanders and husband, Mark, Minden, NV, and Cheryl Tinsley, Independence, MO; two granddaughters, Sarah Ness and husband, Elliott, and Miriam Marquez and husband, Brennan; a very close niece, Melody Schaefer, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Two from Arkansas injured in Bates County Crash

On 11/24/18 around 1:15pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County, Butler Fire Department, Bates County Sheriff's Deputies and Bates County EMS responded to a two vehicle accident on I-49 around mile marker 138.6 south of Adrian.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1994 Pontiac driven by 64 year old Sue M. Smith of Butler, Missouri lost tread of the rear tire as the driver started to lose control. The vehicle crossed the median and traveled into the southbound lane of I-49 striking the 2017 Toyota Rav-4 driven by 83 year old Judith A. Rowe of Bella Vista, Arkansas causing both vehicles to travel off the roadway and down a embankment before coming to rest.

Judith A. Rowe along with a passenger in her vehicle 80 year old Ralph B. Rowe of Bella Vista, Arkansas both sustained moderate injures in this accident and both were transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Douty's Tow of Butler, Missouri.

Obituary - Lloyd Gene Mitchell

Lloyd Gene Mitchell, age 93, Blue Mound, Kansas passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 4, 1925 at Blue Mound the son of Robert and Effie Cassida Mitchell. Upon graduation from Blue Mound High School, he entered the United States Army. He fought in the Pacific Theatre during World War II on the Philippine Islands. After the bombing of Hiroshima, he was part of the occupation of Japan. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant and a recipient of a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Victory Medal. 

While in the Army, Betty Northway, his future wife, wrote to him. They began dating when he returned from war. They married on June 7, 1947. Betty preceded him in death on March 9, 2017. Lloyd was a lifelong farmer in the Blue Mound area. He farmed many acres of land and ran hog and cattle operations until into his late eighties. He was featured in hog magazines and won many soil conservation awards including Kansas Banker Award. 

He was a member of the Blue Mound United Methodist Church. To Lloyd and Betty''s union are three surviving children: Donna McCormick and husband Larry, Bruce Mitchell and Jodi Johnson and husband Phil, eleven grandchildren: Kamie Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Gayla West and Les, Nicholas Johnson and Amanda, Jeffrey Johnson and Jade, Michael Johnson and Peggy, Julie Steele, David Johnson, Douglas McCormick, Mike McCormick and Matthew McCormick, and twenty-seven great grandchildren: Leighton, Reid, Joci, Jayton, Michaela, Samantha, Chris, Katrina, Eli, Krista, Logan, Max, Alex, Bria, Paisley, Richard, Dylan, Shayla, Blaine, David, Nathan, Molly, Morgan, Tristan, Tessa, Taylor and Zoey, one great great granddaughter, Renlee, and a sister, Margaret Ellen Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Floyd and a great grandson, Jacob Steele. 

Funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Blue Mound United Methodist Church. Burial in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Church. Obituary - Marie Copeland Peirce McDonnell

Marie Copeland Peirce McDonnell age 93 of Drexel, Missouri departed this life Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Adrian Manor, Adrian, Missouri surrounded with family and love.

Marie is survived by her five sons; Jim McDonnell and his wife Nancy of Archie, Missouri, Larry Peirce and his wife Wendy of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, James Peirce of Drexel, Missouri, Dale Peirce and his wife Barbara of Amarillo, Texas, and Dean McDonnell and his wife Randy of Archie, Missouri; two daughters, Patricia Barnard and her husband Dennis of Raymore, Missouri, and Merrilee Honaker and her husband Larry of Drexel, Missouri; a brother, Glenn Copeland of Rotan, Texas; two sisters, Nadine Semsch of Freeman, Missouri, and Fern Coffel of Sedalia, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Reid Cemetery near Harrisonville, Missouri.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Eastern Star service will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Everett Church Memorial Fund.

State of Missouri Endangered Person Advisory

The Lebanon Police Department has issued an Endangered Person Advisory for a missing person incident that occurred near Johnson, Nebraska at 6:50 PM on November 22, 2018.

Missing Is:

Donald Earl Williams a white, male, age 87

Vehicle Information:

Grey 1995 Chrysler New Yorker bearing Missouri, SS2M1R.

The endangered missing person:

Donald Earl Williams, is a white, male, age 87, height 510, 160 lbs, grey hair, hazel eyes.

Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Missing Person incident:

Mr. Williams suffers from a serious medical condition and may have an altered mental state due to lack of sleep. Mr. Williams was travelling from Lebanon, MO to either Hutchinson, KS or Johnson, NE. 

He last spoke to family on November 22 at 6:50 pm and is believed to have been in the Johnson, NE area at that time.  
Mr. Williams told family that he was lost and no further contact has been made with him since.







Anyone seeing the missing person, suspect, associate, or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Lebanon Police Department at 417-532-3131.

Kristine Lea Hibbs, age 69, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at South Haven Baptist Church, 16800 Bel-Ray Blvd., Belton, MO. Inurnment will follow the service at Belton Cemetery, Belton, MO.
