Two from Nevada escape injury in Bates County Crash

On 11/25/18 around 4:27pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County responded to a two vehicle accident in the northbound lane of I-49 near mile marker 131.1 around Butler.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2003 Dodge Caravan driven by 22 year old Rashia M. Carlson of Nevada, Missouri slid on slick roads and stuck the 2014 International 7500 truck driven by 33 year old Benjamin C. Cameron of Jefferson City, Missouri

Rashia M. Carlson along with a passenger in her vehicle 20 year old Sidney N. Bayless of Nevada, Missouri both sustained minor injuries in this accident and both refused medical treatment at the scene.

Cancelled Endangered Person Advisory - Lebanon Police Department - Donald Earl Williams

The Lebanon Police Department has CANCELLED an Endangered Person Advisory for a missing person incident that occurred near Johnson, Nebraska at 6:50 PM on November 22, 2018.

Missing Is:
Donald Earl Williams a white, male, age 87

Vehicle Information:
Grey 1995 Chrysler New Yorker bearing Missouri, SS2M1R.


The endangered missing person:
Donald Earl Williams, is a white, male, age 87, height 510, 160 lbs, grey hair, hazel eyes.

Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Missing Person incident:

Subject has returned home and is safe.


Mr. Williams suffers from a serious medical condition and may have an altered mental state due to lake of sleep.  Mr. Williams was travelling from Lebanon, MO to either Hutchinson, KS or Johnson, NE.  He last spoke to family on November 22 at 6:50 pm and is believed to have been in the Johnson, NE area at that time.  Mr. Williams told family that he was lost and no further contact has been made with him since.

Anyone seeing the missing person, suspect, associate, or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Lebanon Police Department at 417-532-3131.



Vehicle Fire in rural Butler

The Butler Fire Department along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies are in route to a truck that is loaded with hay bales and is said to be full engulfed in flames in a field at this time.

The address is said to be around the area of 757 NW CR 3501 which is SW of Butler off of K Highway.

Tennessee woman seriously injured in crash near Garden City

On 11/24/18 around 5:52pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with MoDot, Garden City Fire Department and Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Missouri 7 Highway at Thunder Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2016 Ford F-350 driven by 54 year old John G. Kagarice of Garden City, Missouri was attempting to cross southbound Missouri 7 at Thunder roadway when the load of several hay bales did not clear the passing lane partially obstructing the highway and the trailer carrying hay was struck by a 2018 Dodge Caravan driven by 23 year old Amber D. Young of Memphis Tennessee.

Amber D. Young sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The Dodge Caravan was totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow. The roadway was shut down several hours as crews worked to clean up this accident.

Garden City man injured in Cass County Crash

On 11/25/18 around 2:25pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 2 Highway east of West Line Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2006 Dodge Ram driven by 40 year old Noah T. Routon of Garden City, Missouri lost control on snow covered roadways causing the vehicle to travel off the roadway and strike a rock bluff and partially overturning.

Noah T. Routon sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported to Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by J's Southland Tow.

Obituary - Elnora Faye Cox

Elnora Faye Cox, 88, Kansas City, Missouri formerly of Garden City, Missouri departed this life on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Jefferson Health Care, Lee's Summit, Missouri.

She is survived by her sister, Alta Kagarice, Lee's Summit, Missouri; 3 nephews, Robert Johnson, Blue Springs, Missouri, Bill Johnson, Grandview, Missouri, Curt Northup, Olathe, Kansas; a niece, Rebecca Northup, Kansas City, Missouri; a step-nephew, Randell Dykes, Burke, Virginia; a step-niece, Sandi Jackson, Harrisonville, Missouri; a special friend, Karen Douglas, Liberty, Missouri; great nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Saturday December 1, 2018 at the funeral home.
