BCSO 3rd Annual Beards for Kids program

November 1st kicked off the Deputy's 3rd Annual Beards for Kids program. Deputies were allowed to grow a beard if they collected donations for Bates County kids to be able to Shop with a Sheriff. If they reached their goal of $5000.00 Sheriff Anderson would allow his Deputies to keep their beards through the month of December. With the help of citizens and businesses the Deputies surpassed their goal and raised over $7100.00.

Deputy Wilson has been contacting local counselors from the schools to get a list of children who are in need this Holiday Season. Sometime in December these children will be able to spend an evening with a Deputy shopping for themselves and family members at our local Wal-Mart.

Sheriff Anderson and all of the Deputies would like to send out a heartfelt Thank You to everyone in our community who donated to the Sheriff's Community Benefit Fund and supported the Beards for Kids Program. All of this would not be possible without the support of such a great community we live in.
