Obituary - Jeff Lee Dade

Jeff Lee Dade, 57, Springfield, MO, formerly of Nevada, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in Springfield, MO. Jeff was born August 31, 1961 in Nevada to Jack Eugene and Lois Ann (Reedy) Dade.

Jeff was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1979. Following high school he attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield for one year. Jeff worked most of his life in construction and landscaping. For the past six months he has resided in Springfield.

Survivors include one daughter, Rachel Dade, Nevada; two brothers, Tim Dade and his wife Pat, Blue Springs, MO, Monty Dade and his wife Kathy, Golden City, MO; one sister, Dana Carlin and her husband Mike, Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Toby, Brody, and Carli; and ten nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Gayle Sanders.

Committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Newton Burial Park in Nevada.


Obituary - Joy Lee Mills

Joy Lee Mills, 64, Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her home. 

Funeral services are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Obituary - Teddy Joe Zellmer

Teddy Joe Zellmer, 83, Harrisonville, MO, died Monday, December 10, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Cornerstone Community Church in Harrisonville with visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, at the church. 

Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.

There was a heavy law enforcement presence in the south part of town earlier between Ash St. & Main St. between the Vernon County Sheriff's Office and Nevada Police Department. 

The subject has been taken into custody. There is no further concern in the area. We appreciate all of your help.

Obituary - Randy Albert Wehmeyer

Randy Albert Wehmeyer, 59, formerly of Walker, MO passed away on December 10, 2018 at Highland Rehabilitation and Health Center in Kansas City, MO following a lengthy illness. Randy was born September 16, 1959 in Nevada to Samuel Vernon and Betty Elizabeth (Garfield) Wehmeyer.

Randy grew up in Walker and attended Walker Schools. Following high school he worked for a number of years as a roofer with Stanley Pike Roofing. He lived most of his life in the Vernon County and Kansas City areas. Randy, “took peace in the fact that he was recently saved and had given his life to Christ.”

Survivors include six children, Amanda Million and her husband Donald, Bronaugh, Amber Ozga, Kansas City, MO, Donald Kegerries, Harrisonville, MO, Michael Hall, Nevada, Ryan Ozga, Kansas City, MO, Jacob Wehmeyer, Nevada; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Linda Wooten, Kansas City, MO, Eva Fritts, Nevada, Gary Wehmeyer, Nevada, Bill Wehmeyer, Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Terry Wehmeyer; and an infant son, Randy Wehmeyer, Jr.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Jerod Lamb officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
