Obituary - Paul William Luzadder

Paul William Luzadder, 55, Harrisonville, MO died Monday, December 17, 2018 at Golden Years Health and Rehabilitation in Harrisonville. 

A Memorial service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Golden Years in Harrisonville. A complete obituary will be added when it becomes available.


Obituary - Richard E. Call

Richard E. Call, 76, Urich, MO died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Clinton Health and Rehabilitation in Clinton, MO. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Church Of The Nazarene, Harrisonville, MO.

Richard was born September 19, 1942 in Kansas City, MO, a son of Hurschel Richard and Beulah Alvina (Hubbard) Call. He grew up in Independence, Harrisonville, and Osceola, MO. He was united in marriage to Doris Graves, December 28, 1963 at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville.

Richard lived in many places during his life, but mostly in the Osceola, MO and Harrisonville areas. He worked as a body and fender man and was a mechanic most of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to camp and be outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but especially with his grand, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home, one son, Darryl Call, Harrisonville; two daughters, Cheryl Call, Harrisonville, and Tineka Parrott and her husband Harold, Urich. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.



Warsaw woman dead after house fire

On Saturday December 22nd at 4:04 p.m. Benton County Central Dispatch received an 911 call reference to a cover fire at 25745 Beeson Boulevard. It was then advised that the cover fire ignited the Residence.

Osage Valley Fire Protection District along with Lincoln Fire Protection District and the Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene to find the residence fully engulfed in flames.

It was discovered that the homeowner identified as Barbara A. Beeson, 76 of Warsaw, had perished in the fire after re-entering the residence.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal was called to the scene to investigate the circumstances of the fire. At this time there is no suspicious circumstances involved in this tragic loss of life. 

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and my thanks to both fire departments who faced significant challenges fighting this fire.




South Grand River Gobblers donate to local food pantry

The South Grand River Gobblers chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation made donations this week to two food pantries in our area. 

Linda Smith with the Shepherds Staff Food Pantry in Harrisonville accepted the check from Rodger Benson, committee member of the NWTF Chapter. 

Also The committee presented Leslie McBee, board member, a check for the Community Food Pantry of Butler. The SGRG Chapter will host its annual banquet in Harrisonville on February 23, 2019.

Structure Fire overnight in Butler

Shortly before 2am this morning the Butler Fire Department along with Butler Police Officers responded to a fully engulfed structure fire at a house located at 809 E. Page Street.

The home was owned and occupied by Mark Brown who was able to escape the fire without injury.

A investigation into the cause of the fire is pending at this time and Mid America Live News will update when further information is made available to us.

Obituary - Jennifer Masten

Funeral services for Jennifer Masten of Butler, Missouri will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler. 

Visitation is 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, December 27 at the Schowengerdt Chapel. Cremation will follow services. Contributions may be made to Remington's Heart Foundation or House of Hound. Online condolences www.schowengerdtchapel.com.

Jennifer Lynn Masten, age 45 of Butler, Missouri died Friday, December 21, 2018 at her home. She was born November 14, 1973 to Larry Dean and Judy Karlene McGuire Ingram in Butler, Missouri.

Jennifer is survived by her husband, Mike Masten of Butler, Missouri; her father, Larry Ingram of Butler, Missouri; a brother, Kenny Ingram and wife Dawn of Queen Creek, Arizona; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Julia Masten of Lowry City, Missouri; and several brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts and cousins. She is also survived by her dogs, Queenie, Bella, Moose Jr. and Pony Boy; cats, Aiden and Tig; and a donkey, Bocephus. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy K. Ingram on December 14, 2000.





Arrest made after rollover accident west of Rich Hill

Shortly after 7pm this evening the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Rich Hill Fire Department responded to a one vehicle rollover accident around 1 mile south of route A on PP Highway west of Rich Hill.

The driver of the vehicle 27 year old Billy J. McBrien of Foster, Missouri was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated-Chronic Offender 2.) Felony Driving While Suspended/Revoked 3.) Careless and Imprudent Driving Resulting in a accident 4.) No Seat Belt.

Mr. McBrien was released to seek medical treatment for injuries he sustained in the accident.
