UPDATE ON SCHOOL DECISION FOR JANUARY 30TH:
From Superintendent, Destry Brown:
"The district has re-evaluated their previous decision to have school on Wednesday. The district WILL BE CLOSED on Wednesday, January 30th.
Although the district had a plan with many extra safety measures put into place, I understand that even the best of plans can go wrong. I would rather change my mind on my decision than for anything to happen to our students and staff.
I apologize for any inconvenience this decision has caused, and appreciate your understanding."
Update: Harrisonville teen killed in Cass County Crash
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2005 Ford driven by 19 year old Cora Graham of Harrisonville, Missouri struck the rear of the 2017 Freightliner driven by 51 year old Rodney D. Henderson as it was stopped for traffic congestion.
Cora Graham was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and she was transported to the Jackson County Medical Examiners Office.
The accident was cleared by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and J's Southland Tow. This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 8th Fatality Crash of 2019.
