Henry County Police Pursuit ends near Windsor

The Henry County Sheriff's Office just ended a police pursuit with a unknown stolen Dodge Dakota truck that was fleeing from officers and wrecked near a address of 35534 Bennett Road, Green Ridge, MO.

One suspect is in custody at this time and vehicle is said to be fully engulfed in flames. Please use caution if you must travel in this area as there will be a heavy police presence.

Belton woman seriously injured in Cass County Crash

On 2/2/19 around 8:38am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County responded to a one vehicle accident at Mullen Road just south of E 187th Street in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2001 Ford Escape driven by 33 year old Kaylee K. Kocourek-Bowman of Belton, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a telephone pole before coming to rest.

Kaylee K. Kocurek-Bowman sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported by Belton EMS to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by J's Southland Tow.

One arrested after police pursuit ends near Adrian

On 2/2/19 around 1:16am the Adrian Police Department, Bates County Sheriff's Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol were involved in a police pursuit that ended on Route A just east of CR 1001 in rural Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the pursuit started when the 1997 Buick driven by 40 year old Dru P. Kazmier of Adrian, Missouri was failing to yield for the police when he lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned.

Mr. Kazmier sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was treated and released by EMS at the scene.

Dru P. Kazmier was arrested for 1.) Driving While Revoked/ Suspended 2.)Exceeding the posted speed limit (16-19mphs) 3.)Contempt 4.) Fleeing a police officer.

More charges are pending at this time and Mr. Kazmier was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he is currently listed as bondable.

Arrest made this morning in Harrisonville

This morning, Harrisonville Officers with the assistance of the Cass County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at 1005 South Butler Drive. Officers located wanted fugitive Lenny James, who was wanted for a no bond parole warrant. 

Approximately 35 grams of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, brass knuckles, and stolen items were recovered. This investigation originated from a tip from neighbors. Thank you to the citizens of this community who have helped us make our town safe.

Two from Kansas City arrested in Bates County

On 2/1/19 around 9:43pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 48 year old Michael R. Wells and 41 year old Stephen B. Woods both of Kansas City, Missouri.

Stephen B. Woods was arrested for 1.) Misdemeanor Cass County Sheriff's Office Warrant and Michael R. Wells was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Driving while Revoked or Suspended.

Both men were booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and both are currently listed as bondable.

Obituary - Randall “Randy” Wayne Copelin

Randall “Randy” Wayne Copelin, 59, Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at home. 

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Peculiar, MO.

Obituary - Craig Lewis

Craig Lewis, 57, Springfield, Missouri passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at his home in Springfield. Condolences and fond memories can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 11am with visitation one hour prior to service at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Antioch Cemetery and may be left in care of the funeral home.
