Barbara Hutcherson age 75, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away, Thursday, February 7th, 2019 at Clinton Healthcare and Rehab Center, Clinton, Missouri.

It’s not much, but can you help? On February 4th at about 0346 hours, HPD Officers responded to 105 S. Commercial Street, Discount Smokes and Liquors and discovered someone had attempted to burglarize the building by cutting two large holes into the exterior walls of the business.

Obituary - John Leslie Wallace
John Leslie Wallace, 91, Walker, MO passed away on Thursday, February 07, 2019 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Leslie was born December 4, 1927 in Nevada, MO to John Leslie Wallace and Katherine (Kaufman) Wallace. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Oyler on August 13, 1949 in Nevada and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2012.
Leslie grew up in Vernon County and attended school in various one room school houses. He farmed, operated a dairy, and raised cattle and hogs throughout his life on his farm east of Walker. Leslie was Baptized in the Berea Christian Church and was a member of the Walker Christian Church. Leslie enjoyed woodworking
Survivors include one son, Dennis Wallace and his wife Pam, Walker; three grandchildren, Renee Ast and her husband Kurt, Walker, Travern Wallace and his wife, Meisha, Las Vegas, NV, Keatyn Wallace and his wife Bridgett, Walker; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor Edwards and husband Ashton, Bretton Ast, Treyrn Ast, Kylee Wallace, Kendra Wallace, Tyler Wallace, Mia Wallace, Declan Wallace, and Liam Wallace; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Mary, Leslie was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Norm Conklin officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
Memorials are suggested in his memory to the Walker Christian Youth Ministries in c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Double Fatality House Fire In Cass County
A double fatal house fire in rural Cass County is currently under investigation in the 18000 block of S. Shimel Rd. Strasburg Missouri. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Hill Fire Department and the Missouri State Fire Marshalls Office are investigating.
First responders were called to the scene around 4:10 am this morning. First responders stated that the single wide trailer was fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival.
One occupant managed to make it out of the home and was treated for injuries. Investigators have confirmed that two occupants died inside the residence.
The identity of the victims has not been confirmed at this time. The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office is assisting.

Search Warrant Served in Cass County
Cass Co – On Wednesday, February 6, 2019 deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations Child Exploitation Task Force served a search warrant at 513 Sagebrush Lane, Belton Missouri as part of an ongoing child pornography and child enticement investigation.
Authorities arrested Kenneth T. Mize, 36, Belton at the residence.
Kenneth T. Mize, a registered sex offender in Cass County, was charged by the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office with 2 counts of Failure to Register as Sex Offender for failing to register an online account and email address. Mize had previously registered as a sex offender in October 2018 at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and must notify the Sheriff’s Office in person within 3 business days of any change to include vehicles, temporary lodging information, temporary residence information, email address, instant messaging address, and any other designations used in internet communications, postings, or telephone communication.
Mize is currently in custody at the Cass County Jail and is held on a $100,000.00 cash only bond.
