Obituary - Billie R. Dill

Billie R. Dill, 77 of Nevada went home to God’s arms on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Billie was born on January 23, 1942 in Jasper, AL. He was married to his childhood friend and sweetheart, Nancy Annette Millwood on April 26, 1962 and she survives of the home. Billie was raised in Southeast Missouri near Portageville. At the age of 17 he moved to Flint, MI where he lived and worked before coming to Nevada in 2005.

While in Michigan, Billie worked for General Motors until his retirement in 1985. He was a deeply religious man and the most important thing in his life was his love for his family. Billie was known for his great sense of humor and also his strong determination. Billie was a long-time member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors in addition to his wife Nancy include his four children, Linda Davis, Rebecca Thorpe, John Dill, and Jim Dill, twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three brothers, and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in law, and two sisters.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Updated Obituary - Robert A. Ross

Robert A. Ross, 49 of Archie, Missouri and formerly of Butler, Missouri passed away February 13, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Butler with Father Jason Koch as Celebrant.

Burial will follow Mass in Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, from 5-7 PM at Mullinax Funeral Home (660-679-0009) in Butler with Rosary at 7 PM. Messages and memories for the family may be left at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.



Obituary - Virginia Lorene Johnson

Virginia Lorene Johnson, 89, Deerfield, MO, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Virginia was born on January, 10, 1930, in Deerfield, to Curt and Irene (Klontz) Weber. She fixed her eyes upon a certain handsome fellow named William C. “Bill” Johnson on the school bus and eventually she became his girl, and they were married on November 25, 1948 in Nevada and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2012.

Virginia was raised on the family farm just north of Deerfield. She always obeyed the rules and was thankful for strict parents and teachers. Virginia graduated from Nevada High School then worked as a secretary for a real estate business and Crain Insurance Agency in Ft. Scott, KS. She eventually bought the Adkins Insurance Agency in Ft. Scott which she ran for 15 years.

Virginia is survived by two sons, Russell William Johnson and his wife Ronda, Deerfield, and Melvin Johnson, Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Reanna Villagomez and her husband Greg, Nevada, Ron Johnson, Kansas City, MO, Rusty Johnson and his wife Hailee, Deerfield, Curt Johnson and his wife Erin, Peculiar, MO and Marshall Johnson, Prairie Village, KS; great-grandchildren, Greyson, Ronan, and Graham Villagomez, Nevada, and Vanessa and Beatrice Johnson, Peculiar; one sister, Mamie Cook, Rutledge, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; and four brothers, Gene Weber, Jack Weber, Bill Weber and Lee Weber.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Private interment will following in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Those who wish may donate in Virginia's memory to the Deerfield Cemetery in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Obituary - Sherry Lee Browning

Sherry Lee Browning, age 65 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at Westwood Living Center, Clinton, Missouri. A Memorial Service will be 4:00 PM. Wednesday, February 20 at Vansant-Mills Funeral Chapel, Clinton with visitation 3:00-4:00 PM prior to service. Private family burial at Parks Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church and may be left in care of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

She was born on December 31, 1953 in Independence, MO. to Dale and Rosalie Looney. Sherry lived nearly her entire life in Clinton and worked at several retail outlets and owned her own pet shop on the downtown square. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton where she was Baptized in Christ on May 19, 1991. She was also a Life Member of the Golden Valley VFW Auxiliary Post 1894.

Sherry enjoyed spending time with family and friends whenever possible and making people laugh. She always had a love of animals and had countless dogs, cats, a few bottle calves, and even a parrot throughout her life. She loved making crafts and playing a variety of games. She had a well-known passion for playing Bingo and spending time at the local VFW Hall.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband John Browning, father Dale Looney, brother Roger Looney, nephew Travis Bartlett, and grandson Jason Caldwell.

Sherry is survived by two daughters; Carmen (David) Bristow of Clinton and Chrissy (Jeremy) Wilson of Clinton; 6 grandchildren: Anthony (Elizabeth ) Caldwell, Tommy (Cierra) Caldwell, JD (Taylor) Bristow, Dakota Bristow, Hayden Wilson, and Riley Wilson; two great-grandchildren: Clay Bristow and Nova Caldwell; one sister Cathy (Harold) Houk of Clinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, MO.

Four injured in St. Clair County Crash

On 2/18/19 around 7:50am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 82 Highway around 1 mile east of Roscoe, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the accident occurred when the 1999 Ford Explorer driven by 30 year old Amber D. Wilson of Osceola, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.

Amber D. Wilson along with 3 juveniles that were in the vehicle all sustained moderate injuries in this accident.

All four were transported by ambulance to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri.
